Le Mans 1930-39: The Official History Of The World's Greatest Motor Race

This book is just a rich volume of information. Full color pages, great photos of virtually forgotten cars, detailed statistics on the races, outcomes, cars entered, etc. Excellent overviews of how the races were organized and the rules for each, good overall summaries of the race, and then excruciating details on individual/team entries and their outcomes. The best part for me was in seeing an hour by hour lead chart for each car showing how the race unfolded. Between that and the accounts of teams, you feel like you've watched the race.I'm really looking forward to another volume of these books covering the next 10 year span(s).

Spurring's series of Le Mans books have excellent photography and interesting "behind the scenes" anecdotes that make for an interesting read. Highly recommended for Le Mans enthusiasts.

More info about LeMans in the 30's than you have a right to expect. A thoroughly researched tome full of illuminating insight and anecdotes. A must have for endurance racing junkies!

As always, Mr. Spurring's deeply researched volume will go down as the last word on the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I have all seven works, and if I have one quibble, it would have been nice to see more race car paddock and preparation photos. I suppose it probably would have meant a book twice the size. Nevertheless, all the relevant details are here, arranged in well-organized fashion. Highly recommended.

Excellent study of a little known decade of racing. The pictures alone are a treasure trove

This is a great book that covers all of the teams at each year Le Mans was run during the 1990's. I learned a lot about the changing rules, how it affected the fields, and how each race played out. While it may not seem like it is necessary or worthwhile to cover every team for each year, I found a lot of it interesting regardless.

Another superb book in the series! The facts and details about this decade at Le Mans is unrivaled. If you are a Le Mans fan like me, then this edition, along with all the other volumes by Spurring are a must have for your library!
