Decent Pair of Flight Approved Boots
I’ve had a pair of Rocky’s for a couple years now. I wear them pretty much every work day as they are the only pair of flight approved boots I own. They have held up pretty well. Quite comfortable. I recommend.

Very comfy and true to size
Just received them and put them on, laced them up. They are definitely Rocky's from how they feel. There is no mistaking Rocky quality and these are definitely it!

My 3rd pair.
I have a pair of these boots I have used for the military. I purchased this make and model several year ago when they first came out and I was going to iraq in 2007. They are tan. I beat the crap out of them, loved them, and two years later replaced them. These were all the SV2 boots, but they were tan. Now, I do still have the second tan pair and I still love them. What I did do was pick up a pair in Black. I got these black ones for my motorcycle. I have these for the waterproof ability when riding.I use and like the fit and feel of them. You can tell a good boot. They also fit great out of the box. The black ones are a bit more stiff than the tan boots, but its the type of leather and to be expected. I have not had a chance to check how or if they maintain the 100% waterproof ability, but that happens when I get caught in the rain. So, these boots are not cheap,, nor do they feel cheap. I spent 17 years in the Infantry, and I can say that a good pair of boots means a lot. I like these better than my Danners. No regrets, I will buy them again.

Very expensive, updated version of the Bates Anabon
This is a great duty boot for LE, corrections etc., if a bit overpriced, but should NOT be mistaken for a load-bearing mission-type boot. After serving as a grunt for 12 years, I knew as soon as I put my feet in these, that they would never hold up to real abuse, contrary to some reviews I've seen from some guy who was yammering about carrying a 20-lb ruck. Sorry but my LBE weighed more than that. Heck, I carried more water weight than that. For real grunt-types who routinely have to carry rucks in the 65-80-lb range, this boot would be less than useless. For those loads, for the sake of your feet and joints, stick with Altama, Danner and the usual suspects.Fast-forward a decade or so, to my current occupation in corrections and you have a totally different story. For long days on concrete and steel, these boots will keep your feet cool and comfortable and they are a pretty good looking boot, as well. There's no break-in period necessary and they fit great right out of the box. I can already tell that the sole is going to be trouble. It's really soft and comfy now but it is certainly going to wear quickly. My best guess is that, in my current boot rotation, these MIGHT make it two years. You can bet that, if you're a cheapskate and you wear these every day, you might not even get a year out of these soles. Naturally, if you're in a position where you do a lot of sitting, you'll see it differently. Speaking of the soles.... If you work in an environment where chemical irritants, such as OC, are somewhat omnipresent, watch your step. These are not great on slick concrete, as there isn't a huge surface area of the boot sole that actually makes contact with the surface you're walking on. Just beware. These are what I consider high-end duty/uniform boots and I have no doubt that they will serve perfectly as such. After many years on my feet, footwear is not an area where I'm willing to compromise and the $170.00 price tag phased me not in the least. These replace my last pair of Bate's Anabons (now discontinued) in my current rotation of 2 pairs of Bate's Defenders, 2 pairs of Altama hot weather boots and a pair of Rocky Fort Hood boots. The Fort Hoods are relatively sorry, which explains why you can find them for about $90, all over the internet. These S2Vs are an immediate and dramatic upgrade. I'm expecting great things out of them, which means I'll soon forget that I'm even wearing them.In short, KNOW what you're buying a boot for, then make your purchase. These are not Danners. These are not Matterhorns. These are not Altamas. Don't expect them to hold up to abuse as though they were!

Great boots for general military use.
I bought these some months back because I was sick of wearing my heavy a** Navy issued steel toed. Let me tell you, these are so comfy! As of 9 Dec 2023 to my knowledge, these are authorized according to the My Navy Hr instruction and by my command. It takes about a week to break in and for anyone wondering, you can polish them. I used Kiwi Parade gloss in the photo (right). No water leaks in, pretty solid construction and no rips or tears.

Sweet
My previous boots were wearing a bit thin especially after the last 6-7 Winters in my beloved Northeast and was looking for something in the same area as these that I found. After wearing them for a few days and breaking them in I couldn’t be happier. The fit, the feel, the durability, the look are all top notch. The only downside I’ve had so far is that now the weather has warmed up and I have to wait till November to strut these bad boys regularly again. I’m sure I’ll rock them a few times when needed before then but they’re so sweet I want to wear them all the time. Incredibly comfortable and not as bulky as they may appear. Highly recommend.

SMALLER THAN THE COYOTE VERSION
I have the same boot in the coyote rough put style size 10.5W. Ordered the same size in the black leather version and they are a full size smaller. The heel to toe legnth is about .25-.50 inches shorter. They're super comfy in the right size just beware that they run way small.

Good comfort, great support, a bit pricey...
I have been an avid user of Rocky Alpha Force boots for over a decade. I need a pair for the Army now and tried these on. They are definitely in the "heavy duty" category, on par with the likes of the Garmont T8 Bifida. They have good support and sole cushion. I passed on these after I tried them on because I am looking for something a little lighter for long ruck marches. These are good for heavy field / mountain use for sure.
