Fun on land, slow in water
I bought two so we could play soccer in the pool, they're very slow in water but fun and rugged. My daughter panicked and submerged one multiple times.. And it still worked fine (don't do this: they're meant to go on top of the water like a boat, not meant to submerge). The controllers are not waterproof, one got water inside but I opened it, let it air dry, and it was fine. I would avoid salt water, I'm pretty sure that would kill them. I bought them used from Amazon warehouse deals for around $10 and $15, perfect condition. I'm not sure I would pay full price though, not sure they're worth that much

My 5 year old LOVES this toy!
My 5-year-old son loves this toy! It’s easy to use. It only took him a few minutes to get the hang of it. He couldn’t wait to take it outside. He ran it all the way around our house, down our driveway, on the dirt path on side of our house, across our bumpy stone patio and back again. He also takes it down to the little creek behind our house (when I’m with him). It’s only about 6 inches deep, but he has a great time driving in and out the water.I love that he can drive it almost anywhere, indoors and outside. He and his friend had a great time playing outside in light rain the other day. He’s getting more exercise playing with this toy and chasing it around then almost any other. His sister, who’s 4, always wants to try. She’s able to use it just fine. I’d like to get her her own Morphibians. I just need to pick one that can be used at the same time. This car is 27 MHz. So I need to find one that’s a different frequency.

another great idea, poor execution
I bought a couple things like this a few years ago for my sister's kids and they were awesome. So I got these for my own kids, and thought I had found the same toy. But this is not the same toy. They are cheap, poorly put together and break easily. They are hard for little kids to drive as it takes some coordination to use the controllers that adults would find challenging at first. Maybe if the toys worked right my kids would have got it, but early on one of the wheels did not respond to the controller's commands, and soon one whole side stopped working.I think the original toy that I bought for my sister's kids was made by Fisher Price and was solid. But they discontinued them. This is some knock off, not a recognized brand. They came in plain cardboard boxes with instructions in English and what I think may have been Chinese (not sure). If you can find these made by a recognized vendor, get them. They are awesome. But this knock off version does not last. :(

Do not use at beach.
Great idea, but honestly the most common place you would want to use a toy like this would be at the beach and it is not made for saltwater. We did it anyway, and immediately had problems. Even in regular water, my 4 year old dropped the controller in the water for a few seconds and it never worked again. Complete waste of money. Great idea, but you really can't combine water and electronic toys.

Don't drop it to hard, and won't work very long in the water!!!
Kinda cheap, but don't feel jipped on the price. It is intuitively easy for my 26 m/o son to use the compact size remote The little thing is 4wd witch 1 axis control for each side independently. Never-the-less he opened it Christmas Day. I installed new batteries 1.6v each tested before installing. He dropped the remove once from about 2 feet. Suddenly the remote LED stopped coming on indicating it was not xmitting. I disassembled the remote w/ about 7 screws and found a poor soldering work throughout from the battery compartment to the controller board. I put it back together with my soldering tool. Presto fixed!!! Then the 1st use in the bath tub the car is not water-proof around the axles(pretty much means its not good for the water like advertised) I disassembled the car and found more poor soldering work. Tested voltages throughout circuits and deduced the motor coils had become flooded. We let the toy dry out overnight and put it back together...Presto it is working. Most parents wouldn't go this far but my son has so much fun with it and is very simple circuitry. Over all good value for a 24 m/o to maybe 7 y/o!

durable, truly floats and goes amphib, fun car
I have had this car for one year. despite the abuse this thing receives it works really well in or out of water. my kid even picks it up by the antenna and it hasn't broken. the 4WD makes this car a lot more fun on mixed surfaces.it works well on rechargeables for a good period of time. unlike other more expensive RC cars this thing always works and doesn't stop. it's a bargain at this price point.

Not exactly Amphibious, but still fun
Does work pretty well for my 5 year old, but isn't really all-terrain. Doesn't work at the beach and kills the battery on the grass. Awesome for driveways, roads, sidewalks, and the kids get a thrill going through small puddles. I only paid a Jefferson for it, so its totally been worth the price, but it definitely wouldn't be worth a Grant.

Toddler and Daddy approved
This is great!! My almost two year old can operate it pretty well with some practice. It's sort of squishy so I don't worry about it banging up my baseboards. Also it is puddle-proof which is nice! He loves his car! The only downside is that if you don't turn it off after each use, the batteries die quickly. Other than that, a great little toy! Daddy likes it too
