Iron Maiden Dance Of Death Tab
A**R
The IRON MAIDEN are back
The Brave New World TAB book was dissapointing. Very much so. Solos missing, all the intricate parts... Maiden must have taken a lot of flak over this, as we loyal fans have learned to expect high quality in whatever the Irons produce. And here, it seems, with "Dance of Death" for Guitar TAB, they have listened to us.I myself have played guitar for a little while, and I first picked it up thanks to Iron Miaden (in particular Adrian Smith). With the Dance Of Death TAB book, I now have the chance to 'be' Iron Maiden (or, as the case may be for me certainly, I can 'be' Adrian Smith) for the duration of any of the eleven quality tracks on the quality album. This has got pretty much everything the Brave New World TAB book didn't have - the most noticeable being the solos...I simply had to buy this book after hearing their album. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to play Adrian's blistering solo off of Paschendale...

Mostly accurate, although a few questionable bits and Drop D suggestions!?
I like having tab books. I use online tabs as well, and they are great, but I really like having a physical, tangible book like this, it just seems right to me, plus, if either source is questionable or doesn't sound 100% accurate, you now have two things to compare, so between them, you should be pretty accurate! I save my book purchases for my favorites and this album is, to me, one of the most criminally under-rated albums by any band ever, and should be in more 'Best Iron Maiden Album' conversations, in my opinion...curse that god-awful old CGI cover! The book is solid and of good quality, and the tabs are easily understandable. Most of the tabs seems very accurate, although there are a couple of songs ('Rainmaker' and the title track) which, it's noted that the songs are in Drop D (DADGBe) tuning...surely this has to be a mistake!? Whilst it's true that there were 3 guitarists at this point and one might be doing something...pretty weird for Maiden and the Drop D adjusted tabs DO make sense from an atonal and theoretical perspective, I just don't think it's correct and don't see Iron Maiden using anything but Standard EADGBe! I'm no Steve Vai, but, a few parts don't sound 100% to me either, especially the arpeggiated verse bit on 'Montsegur.'Great, but it's a good thing to check online to, think of the possible errors as ear training lessons!
