Q: by what i read on k&N this air filter will fit a 2008 silverado 5.3L but the computer is saying it wont?

Fit my 2007 5.3 perfect. Wouldn't think a 2008 would be any different in set up. Ask a mechanic at a dealer if there is. Or better yet, go look under a new 2013. Probably exactly the same.

Q: Have a 2008 Chevy Silverado crew cab all star edition, is this cold air intake system the one? Or is there a better one I should consider?

Hi Allen, If you like the looks yes this is the one. It is a great product and easy to install. If you don't mind a little less dress then try the K&N 57-3058. It has a top hood for a little more control of the cold air intake from the fender well.

Q: My 07 Sierra Denali with a 6.2 has a molded tube off the main over the top of the ignition packs & vacuum plugged into it, is it just eliminated?

Sorry but my Avalanche was not setup like that so I can not help. I would call K&N and ask them.
