Gets rid of the Roots!
We use this twice a year to clear out the sewer lines. It does the trick and was recommended by our plumber

Best pipeline cleaner
Works great!!! Toilet now actually flushes properly and efficiently. Must’ve killed or damaged the roots and without damaging or killing the trees. It’s a go to item for roots causing sewage problems.

Used 9 Dec 2024 - Giving it 4 stars for ease of use. Will Update if Worked
I am new to root in pipe issue and found out my pipe had a few tree roots by paying a plumber to show me on a video/snaked my line. The directions on bottle are tiny.I found a youtube video with a man using this exact Zep product demonstrating how to use it and that man divided up the 2lb bottle into 4 sections and flushed each section down the toilet separately one after the other in a row.....just the the instructions below said. THEN WAIT 12 full hours - no water at all down any drain. I did the same.-----------------Powerful Sewer Root Killer – Copper Sulfate or Sodium ChloridePlace ½ pound of copper sulfate or sodium chloride into your toilet bowl and flush, so it entirely clears the bowl. Place another ½ pound into the toilet and flush again.Do this four times, until you’ve flushed two pounds of copper sulfate or sodium chloride into the sewer where you’re having trouble with root growth. For the next 12 hours, be sure you don’t use the toilet or any water that will drain into the sewer. This allows the chemicals to take effect. Make sure to repeat the process twice a year to keep the sewer lines open. You can pick up copper sulfate or sodium chloride at your local home improvement stores, like Home Depot and Lowes.

Comes highly recommended from someone who does septic tanks and drain fields
I had his new septic tank put in three years ago. The guy put my septic tank in has been doing it for years. He recommended this product every six months. It will keep the roots out of your drainfield. He said that the product says every year, but he would do it twice a year so that’s what I do

Product Uncontained
Don't want to leave a bad review but I'm not paying money to return a damaged product or driving to a drop off location. A partial discount would be best but that is not an option for some reason. I'm not contacting the manufacturing for a problem they didn't cause. Taking off an extra star for the first review being rejected.

Use 2x a year
My 11 yr old septic drain line stopped up last year. Paid 100 bucks to a famous name rooter company to come snake the line. They said they couldnt but they charged me 100 bucks anyway. They simply didnt want to get dirty I think. We two old ladies dug it up and took it apart. A root had found its way at least 75 ft from the woods into the pipe where the connection was. That was some major dirty, stinking nasty work! Not to mention so hard on us. Yes, I called 3 plumbers but without seeing it they said a new line would need to be run and estimated 15000.00 to 40,000.00!! After several weeks of work....rememeber we are old and rather decrepit, we got it working great again. And yes we tried the liquid main line cleaners etc. This may or may not kill a big clogging root and dissolve it, but we now add it twice a year to kills any roots that come in while small. Just flush it as directed. We also use a few septic and line bacteria boosters too as we will not be able to replace the line again in our lifetime.
