Works well, but recommend only for larger jobs.
Worked great. I tried a tucking bar to remove old mortar between cinderblocks, and it barely scratched it. This tool, outfitted with a sandwich blade, chewed right through the motor. I'd estimate it can go the length of a cinderblock (16") in less than five seconds. The depth is adjustable; I was cutting to about 3/4" deep.I spent a lot of time looking at ads trying to figure out if the tool comes with a blade. It doesn't, and the manufacturer has gone to some length, in my opinion, to not say so in the literature.Be aware that this thing throws out an enormous amount of dust and sand-like particles. I bought the special hose to connect it to a shop vac with a paper filter, and it was clogged up after a minute or so.Outside, no vac is required, but care should be taken not to blow the debris directly at your face or at another person. I wore a full-face shield with respirator, and recommend this. My hair got terribly matted with the dust, but my eyes and nostrils were not affected.I first tried to use a 4.5" grinder, and it worked ok. This tool is much more efficient, though. If you have a very small amount of tucking to do, then go ahead and use a 4.5" grinder, like the Harbor Freight model. You won't be able to attach a hose to it, so some deep cleaning will be necessary after doing work inside.

Design 3, quality 5 - overall, great improvement for dust control
I bought it after contractors made a huge mess, when they ground out old mortal on a stone wall. They've used tuck pointing wheel without shroud. So I wanted to use proper tool for ongoing work I do myself. My gold were dust control and ease of grinding joints. This one works pretty well in terms of collecting dust.I've first tried it with a cheap ~75CFM shop vac, and it works well at minimal depth (shallow cuts). If shroud elevated to allow deeper cuts - the dust would fly around. Then I connected it to a real shop vac, Bosch. It made a huge difference with doubled air flow. With deep cuts, the dust and debris gets captured still, only small amount can escape.Again, compared to the huge mess of using grinder without shroud - this provides a huge advantage over dust control. But it also requires good vacuum. The grinder itself worked very well for cutting out joints.I rated 4 points, because- I had to rotate the head of grinder to put it in right position, not sure why it was 180 degree from standard right handed hold- rotating head is pretty involved tasks, lots of unscrewing. I removed the head of an angle grinder but accidentally dislodged the motor. The brushes shifted through their channels, making reassembly difficult. I had to disassemble nearly the entire unit to reposition the brushes. Duh.- adjusting depth of cut is pretty awkward, it's impossible to do it quickly. and two hands requiredThe grinder has substantial weight and feels well-built, but its internal design and assembly look underwhelming. Idk what I expected, I guess more robust looking parts. Finally, for the task of grinding out joints, I found Mortar Raking – Starter Kit by MurerPoint, which is €50 in Europe. They sell it nothing like this in USA. That attachment would be a real solution, based on YouTube videos it looks way more effective to grind joints and it doesn't make as much dust as wheel.

Draws a lot of power
Powerful grinder but draws a lot of power. You need a 20 amp breaker if you're using it with a vacuum. Not a problem on most commercial jobs but for residential work, it can be an issue. Especially if you're trying to run more than one.

Too heavy
It works well but is too heavy to use it all day on a job.

Powerfull
Heavy, a monster, eats mortar and did the job as designed, saved a lot of manual labor. If you need to do tuckpointing, this is the complete tool for you, worth every penny.
