Bird B Gone Stainless Steel Bird Spikes - 6 ft Box

For years birds have been building nests atop our front-door-frame. It did not matter how many times I would pull the nests down, the birds would always come back. This past year, the birds became very brazen and would swoop at you while entering and exiting the house.Researched the cost of the item and Amazon had it for about $15 cheaper than the chain hardware stores.The sizing was customizable, and there are still a good amount to use should next years birds pick another spot of the house to nest on. Put the item up with some double-sided adhesive and works like a charm, no more birds. Definitely one of my top five purchases from Amazon, really a great product.

If I could give this a "Zero" or even minus, I would. Easy enough to install, with some Gorilla glue or whatever. However, after a few days, the birds figure this out and use the prongs to hold the twigs, leaves, etc, in place, making a better nest for them! Not the end result I was looking for! Save your money as these are completely useless!!

This product contains six sets of spikes, each on a 1 foot long plastic base. I had an issue with pigeons and hopefully this has solved the problem. The spikes can be attached by using screws, glue or double sided tape. I used 3-M double sided tape (for external use) to secure them to my roof where the pigeons were nesting, and so far it's withstood the 100 degree plus temperatures of the Arizona desert. I've lived in the desert long enough to know that plastic doesn't last too long when it's exposed to the elements, so I fully expect to have to replace these at some point because of the plastic base, but they're reasonably priced enough to offset the hassle of getting on to the roof every couple of years to switch them out.

this product works great and is easy to install. The problem with it is that they put NO space between the item code and the description. I purchased it thinking it was 16 feet in length, and was less than pleased to recieve it only to find out it was 6 ft.

We had pigeons roosting in our eaves and pooping all over the side of our house and on the outside window sills. It was becoming a health hazard and we didn't know what to do. My husband is a bit scared of heights, so building a box and nailing it in the eaves was out of the question. Outside of getting a gun, we decided to try these spikes. They work great. The pigeons have found more comfortable areas to nest, and our house now isn't covered with bird droppings.

These don't work for smaller birds like sparrows. I had them installed on top of 2 support posts on my front porch. It drove a pair of larger birds away, but a few days later, a sparrow took over the nest and had his own little fortress set up.

One box of these spikes went nicely around one of the trees on our property -- about 7 feet up so no eyes would be poked out -- and it has absolutely befuddled our local squirrels! I've been looking for years for something like the barrier these spikes create, and will be evaluating other trees on our property for the same anti-squirrel treatment. This company might research a sister product specifically designed for tree climbers. Until they do, I've thought "outside the box" on this one. "So sue me"!!!!

The SPIKES are stainless steel but the base is NOT! It is plastic and plastic is only good for about a year or two in strong sunlight before it becomes brittle and breaks. Bird deterrents are something I want to do only once in my lifetime and only an ALL METAL product is worth the effort. In two years I won't be able to climb the ladder to replace it. No plastic, please. None. Zero. This product deceptively neglects to mention that the base is all plastic. I returned mine.
