Curt Manufacturing 56189 Vehicle-Side Custom 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness,Fits Select Mitsubishi Outlander ,Black

For whatever reason, the original wiring harness for my trailer lights failed. I ordered this one to fit my car and I now have trailer lights again. Since I didn't have a place to work on the car, I had our local U-Haul install the wiring harness.

Did what it said it was gonna do. Took about 30 minutes to install, nothing complex. Make sure you have the ability to lift your vehicle because you are going to need to crawl along the ground a bit to get the wire up to the front of the vehicle. Not a big issue with ramps. Overall, good kit.

I was able to install this into my 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV GT S-AWC. Everything was hooked up in the back without needing to run the wire under the car to the battery. I just hooked it up to the battery in the back. There also wasn’t a need for any trim/panel removal tools. The instructions were useless but I simply looked at the wiring diagram and installed it. Although I haven’t tested it with my trailer I am giving this product 5-Stars. If I run into difficulty with it functioning correctly I will update my review.

Works great on my three row 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. Easy to setup even though I had to crawl under my car to run the wire to the engine bay. Electrical tape helps keep the connectors attached to the wires.

We worked all summer with Curt directly to try to get this harness to work.... CURT even sent 2 more harnesses.... none of them will work on a Mitsubishi Outlander!...... the return window closed.... then Curt said "so sorry... we can't refund you nor can we give you a unit that will work! CURT IS JUNK! and the people you deal with at curt are incompetent.... SAVE YOUR MONEY.... BUY ANY OTHER HARNESS... JUST NOT CURT!

I thought this is supposed to be plug and play. The power wire is not plug and play and needs to be ran under the carpet along the edge so door sill panels and center column lower trim panel need to be taken off. I didn't go through the firewall. I just plugged it into the fuse box under the dash. Also had to drill a hole in the rear floor pan above the spare tire so the spare tire had to be dropped. Whole thing took about an hour.

Item fit my 2015 Outlander great. Only caveat is instructions are for Oulander without power liftgate. To connect left side wiring it's easiet to just unbolt the liftgate power unit as connecter is directly behind it. Otherwise instructions are spot on.
