Q: I purchased this plant last year, and it is still tiny (but healthy.) Does anyone have any tips or advice for helping this plant thrive?

I live in New Orleans and when I received my plant it was tiny as well. I put the plant in a larger hanging pot and hung it in my living room, which is bright. I experienced the same results as you with my plant not really growing so I placed it outside under my naval orange tree where it received some morning sun. I couldn’t believe how well my plant did outside under that tree and how much faster it grew.

Q: Should this plant be repotted after purchasing? What's the best soil for it?

Hoya's prefer to be root bound so don't repot in a large pot. They require soil that is well draining, I add lots of orchid bark or perlite to my typical soil.

Q: Hi, what is the best way to take care of this plant?

Don’t over water, I water all of my Hoya plants every 2 weeks, good drainage is a must, don’t repot in too big of a pot. My experience they grow faster in smaller pot. The web has a ton of info regarding Hoya plants. They are very easy to propagate even from just a leaf or a short cutting.

Q: Do you need to order multiple plants for a full pot, or does this one plant fill out?

I’m not sure what your end goal is but mine was to have just one rope . I put it in a 6” pot & it is healthy & beautiful. It fills the pot. If you wanted a 12 or 14” pot then yes you would need a couple plants 😊 good luck!
