Brilliant and convincing... A gripping tale which plays hide and seek with the reader till the end...
Must read for avid thriller buffs.. the style is simple yet elegant...in a way the reader can't skip the pages..

Good book!
Such a nice read! Though I did get slowed down and confused a bit with the back and forth. I won't give away the mystery of it, but it is worth a read!

Nice Breezy Read..
Perfect for a nice little light read.. Decent suspense that makes u keep reading in the quest for truth. Would have been better if the story could have been organized bit differently as occasionally at times one lost track on which character u were reading about. All the same, enjoyed the read.

A house has a character
The story of "The girl before" revolves around a house designed and built by an award winning architect. His rules of living for the tenants are unique and scary. The house makes the story unique and interesting. What is also unique to this book is the story telling done through the 2 central characters, Emma and Jane in two different time frames...I.e. now and then. Every chapter swaps between now and then as told by Jane and Emma. The psychological detailing of characters is really excellent.Last , but not the least, the unravelling of the suspence is well done.

Passable
This read elicited some mixed feelings inside me. I am not sure whether the end was to my liking or not. It felt kind of anti-climax to me. I didn't see it coming true but even then something was missing. Was it Jane's decision in the end or the fact that Edward suddenly wasn't the man I thought him to be? I don't know what was it. The settings were awesome. The gothic and mysterious One Folgate Street was certainly a place of mental nightmare for the characters and the reader too. All in all, it was a passable one for me. It was average but I can't compare it to the 'The Gone Girl' 'The Girl on the train' or even 'Behind the closed doors'.
