Does the job
I bought this to protect my reconstructed elbow in salt water on holiday. My concern was getting in and out of surf and risking over extension. The support worked well for my need. I never took a fall or was forced to use the arm for balance or support, but the device provided confidence. As an aside, it withstood being immersed in saltwater several times a day over two weeks. It is also slightly buoyant, so does not drag one down in the water. It is comfortable to wear. The sizing is full. Don't buy the next size up from your measurements.

A very uncomfortable good idea.
This elbow brace incorporates a good idea but the product is too uncomfortable to wear for any length of time. The adjustment capabilities work very well and, when I first put it on, I was very excited about the possibility of this brace helping with my injured elbow. It feels solid and provides good support. It DOES keep your elbow from straightening out completely or, worse, hyper-extending, but the hinges actually wore sore spots into the sides of my elbow. The material that this is made from DOES, as advertised, keep the area warm.........WAY TOO WARM. In a very short period of time my elbow (and the brace) was SOAKING wet and if it was at all warm out, it was even worse. On several occasions I broke out with a terrible rash (in the exact area where the brace was worn) on my arm & elbow. After the first rash cleared up (about a week) I wore a cut off tube sock under the brace the next time I used it. Again, a serious rash, which took even longer to clear up. After the third occurrence, my doctor told me to stop wearing it. He said that the neoprene was overheating the sweat glands around my elbow and arm, causing a type of epidural dermatitis. I was NOT allergic to the brace....but to the HEAT it generated. It would be great if this product could be made from a lighter, more breathable, material and if the hinges could be redesigned a bit. The company was great. The first brace I bought was WAY too small, even though I used the provided measurements to order. I sent it back and they sent out a replacement, in a larger size, right away. I have since had two PRP injection treatments and my elbow is MUCH improved so I no longer need the brace......which is good, because I could not tolerate using it. SOME of the problems I experience with this product may be germane to me alone, but this product is not cheap and I felt compelled to tell my story as a precaution to others.

Pretty Good for My Arthritis...
For me, who's had 15 years of osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis destroying my joints and skeleton, I needed a support and cover that could help the pain in my elbow. The simple velcro " wraps" available at low cost just don't cut it for the elbow area: though the wrists and hands benefit from the Mueller coverings I picked up at Wally World. So, I decided to try a more expensive, and better supporting cover. This does the job. Sizing was a concern from the previous customer reviews. So, having an 11-inch elbow and 13-14 inch biceps (they've wasted a bit over the years of pain), I figured on the medium-size: it fits just about right. There is difficulty in getting it slid up into position, I wish they'd split it length-wise with velcro, due to the pain in my fingers/wrists/hands. But, once it's in position, this support helps a LOT. As far as size goes, I thought of sending it back and getting a large. However, I CAN get the medium into place and you DO want it to fit snug/tight around the joint. There's no guarantee a Large-size would fit as snugly as the Medium even with the adjusting straps drawn tight. This IS called THERMOskin. So, it will be warm, especially in Summer. However, for arthritis (both types), warm-therapy is whats called for. If you withstand the heat/warmth, it DOES help with the joint pain. And, in the cooler days of Autumn and cold days of Winter, I expect I'll be wearing this nearly everyday to help keep the joint warm and from swelling too much. The hinged supports along the length of the top and bottom are made of a heavy durable plastic: NOT metal. Which, for the price of this item, I thought was a bit cheap of them. It could help, maybe, in that the plastic is less likely to wear holes in the fabric of the support. There is no ability to "lock" the hinged brace in a position like with a knee brace I have. However, you CAN remove the hinged supports, reverse them, slide them back in, and that will will you a "lock" to keep from bending the elbow: if that is what you need from the support.Overall, a good piece of equipment to help in my daily life when an elbow is swelling/hurting. The price is higher than I'd like, but it was the best of all the designs I saw likely to help me. It had better wear well and be durable, or I shall be revisiting this review. For this kind of price, I expect similar longevity to the nine years (and still going) of service my knee brace has given me. Just remember, If your elbow is larger than 11-inches round and/or your biceps are larger than 14-inches, get the Large-size.

Great product!
Definitely works as claimed. When I injured my elbow I had the hardest time bump passing in volleyball due to hyper extending my arms and became very painful. With this support, I was able to play pain free and really helped my elbow heal in the process.

The brace recieved was no where near what I had ...
The brace recieved was no where near what I had ordered. Totally different from the pic and totally different from the description.

Sized too large, broke after 4 uses
I'm 6'1 and 200 lbs and the medium was on the edge of too large. Support strap broke after 4 uses. Felt like it helped while it lasted.

the best elbow brace
I hurt my elbow overdoing my weight training and have used a brace for some time to try to deal with the problem. I tried the elastic only braces and they have not been nearly as good as this support. I suspect the hinges are the key . The only downside is the somewhat complex process of putting on the brace - it takes some time getting used to. It seems the best results are achieved when the hinges are aligned with the elbow joint. Once learned, however, putting it on is as easy as the elastic only braces. For me, there was a huge benefit in moving to this brace. I only wear it during my workouts
