works great with Voyager 510
I have a Voyager 510 which I have used with my cellphone for quite a long time. I wanted to use it with my landline phone via a computer, but wasn't able to do it until I got this bluetooth adapter. It was pretty much plug and go. Pairing the headset with the usb adapter was painless ( if you buy the headset and adapter as a kit, I think they have already been paired ). The software I am using is CallSoft Pro - it has a speaker phone setting, and that worked great with this adapter. Based on other reviews, I didn't try any other bluetooth USB adapters. I also haven't tried this adapter with any devices other than the Voyager 510; but it is advertised by Plantronics as having been developed for the Voyager 510, and it does that with flying colors. I am using it on a computer with Win XP Pro ( SP3 ), so I can't guarantee that it will work OK with Vista or Windows 7. Though I can't find it "in writing", I'm about 99% sure that this a USB 1 adapter. If you want USB 2, look at the Plantronics Voyager Pro UC system.

Works most of the time
Its difficult to get working on all my devices. Needs quite a bit of fiddling/configuration to make it work. Its great when it works though.

Works well with Plantronics Voyager 510
I bought the BUA-100 to work with my Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset. My company recently deployed Cisco IP Softphones. After doing a little research, I found that by combining the voyager 510 headset with this bluetooth dongle, I could use the call control button on the headset to answer and end calls just like a cell phone.I read several reviews here from people that had tried to use regular bluetooth dongles to pair with their headsets, but none of them seemed completely happy with the result. I decided not to chance it and bought the BUA-100 even though it is somewhat pricey compared to other bluetooth adapters. It does not work with Bluetooth devices other than plantronics headsets, so you are not getting a multi use bluetooth adapter in this, more like just a dongle to connect your headset to your pc.The button on the dongle allows you to easily pair it with your headset. Just put your headset into pairing mode then push the button on the dongle. They will be paired in a second or two.For range, it behaves as standard bluetooth. When I walk away from my pc, I can get about 15 feel or so before I hear a little static, which gets progressively worse the farther you go.All in all I am very happy with the combination of this and the voyager 510 headset and would recommend it to others.

What a MESS!!
I purchased this device as "used-like new" from PCMonde in early March of 2010. I am trying to use my Plantronics Bluetooth headset with my new laptop. My laptop uses Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. The concept of "plug and play" did not work. I plugged in the adapter and a driver necessary for the functioning of the adapter would not load. After several tries at uninstalling the device and drivers and retrying the install, I gave up and called Plantronics tech support for the bluetooth adapter. The people at Plantronics were very helpful and patient. Unfortunately, even after tracking down the driver usbaudio.sys in windows 7 and attempting to get the usb device to become "active", all attempts failed. At this point the technician asked me about the device number. I gave him a part number. He put me on hold. When he came back on line, he informed that the device was at least 3 years old and did not contain the firmware necessary to work with Windows 7.At this point I began to wonder what company would claim that "used, like new" would include a product that was at least 3 years old and would not provide some information on the limitation on the product.I have wasted several hours of my time trying to get the device to work. This item was placed in a description of the product that would certainly imply it had all the characteristics of new product being described. While Amazon was very quick to give me an RMA on the product, they have refused to comment on the ethics of the supplier in this situation. They also have not responded to a request to refund the expidited shipping costs. My faith in Amazon is a little shaken at this point. I will be very wary of PCMonde as an Amazon supplier in the future and would probably never order a product from them again. The time wasted and frustration is the major reason for writing this review. I would hope that it would give people pause before ordering the "used-like new" product.John Emery

Dissapointing
Not as expected.. Wouldn't pair! Was shipped without instructions.. I got tired of the guessing game and gave up and returned it.

Better than built-in bluetooth
I have been using this item for some time now. I purchased this item with the intent of using a Skype softphone with my laptops when I was traveling for work and leisure. I had attempted to pair my plantronics headsets with the internal Bluetooth adapter on the laptop, however, I found the connection to be unreliable. After pairing my headset with this device, I had no issues with clarity or connectivity. Also, the downloadable PersonoCall software, completed the functionality I was looking for by adding answer and end functioanlity to the headset. I paired this device with a Voyager 520, and the functionality is seemless. I would recommend this product to any user. I even purchased a second set for my gilfriend to use with video conferencing.
