Brilliant fun and looks amazing when finished

I'm still pretty new to diamond painting as a hobby and the bookshelf one was one of the first that I've ever done. Really great kit and just as advertised. The only thing I will say is that the details of the image are kind of lost in the final image. If you're looking for a display piece, I would definitely recommend that you get a bolder and less detailed image. I mostly do these for the time spent doing them so didn't mind the kind of blurry outcome.

I've never done a diamond painting before, but I'm really enjoying doing this one. I usually do wooden 3D puzzles to decompress at the end of a long day, but they aren't cheap and I then have to find somewhere to put the finished piece, but a diamond painting can be put in a folio and stored or put on picture frame once completed.This set comes with everything you need to complete the picture. There is an easy to understand key on the side of the canvas so you know which colour gem to place where which is very useful. The gems come in seperate packs with the numbers printed on the outside and small storage bags are also provided which is handy so I can store the gems safely. The tray which you empty the gems into is designed so if you give it a shake the gems form into lines, and the correct way up, which is a brilliant design. The instructions are printed on the canvas and they are very basic, it would have been nice to get a bit more info, but they do the job adequately. The pen to pick up the gems isn't the best quality, but it works fine and it's easy to get a better one online if you wish.Doing the painting is very relaxing and I've really enjoyed taking an hour a day (when possible) to do a bit. It's satisfying to see the progress of the picture each time, and it allows me to switch off my brain for a bit and just have some quiet time, it's actually quite zen and almost meditative.Overall I'm very happy with this set, it's decent quality fir the price and a great starter set. I'm definitely going to be purchasing another one when this one is finished, and it's a great alternative to my 3D puzzles. I would certainly recommend it, especially to anyone who hasn't fond a diamond painting before and wants to try before starting to spend money on the bigger ones. 5*

This aurora diamond painting picture is so well done. The colours and shapes are perfect – and it’s stunning as well as a lot of fun to do. You get everything you need to complete the picture, including plenty of drills in gorgeous shades, a well-printed canvas, and a standard tool kit.

This diamond painting kit featuring a picture of the Aurora Borealis comes neatly packaged in a plastic bag containing a colour printed canvas, bags of drills (joined together in a long string), drill tray, drill pen (including one end which can pick up several drills at once), a pen grip, a rectangular piece of wax and 10 small resealable bags to hold some of the drills once opened, as the original bags are not resealable.The canvas measures 30 x 40cm (the picture itself being 25 x 35cm) and has 27 different coloured drills in total.The adhesive appears to be strong and the drills stick well. The letters and numbers indicating which drills should be applied to which area are easy to read, being printed in white on the darker areas.A relaxing activity, best done in good light to spare the eyesight.

Only started picture so not sure what it will look like. What made me rate this 3 stars is firstly the canvas was delivered folded in half so had to put it under heavy items for a few days to flatten it..not enough bags provided for the 26 different beads..only got 9 bags. Also because of the size of the actual picture I can't find any cardboard mount to cover the writing all around the outside for when completed. Overall I was most disappointed that it was posted folded in half.

Excellent way to spend dark evenings. This set comes with everything needed to complete. All colours are clearly marked and there is plenty of wax with some left over. Also plenty of diamonds with some left overs. Picture is lovely from the distance. Only annoying thing I can think of is that this comes folded and folds does not come out at all leaving some of the diamonds popping off. Not sure if steaming would help because of glue.

This image, unfortunately, is not the best really to survive the rendering process needed to turn a picture into a diamond painting. The rendering process has to pixelate the picture, a bit like cross stitch and you do then lose detail. The shimmer of the Northern Lights would be a tall order to pull off. It's a real shame the manufacturers didn't think to use Aurora Borealis drills, or AB drills as they are commonly called in the hobby. These are drills that have an iridescent shimmer to them and add extra sparkle in the right places on a canvas.Having said all that, there is a nice mixture of colours on this canvas so it will still be a nice and relaxing diamond painting to complete. I generally don't hang up my diamond paintings, I have too many, but instead I store them in a diamond painting A3 folder so the journey while completing a DP is more important to me than the final result being an exact likeness for the original image.Everything you need to complete the diamond painting is included here in this set. It is slightly priced higher than the average cost of a DP of this nature but there is currently a discount voucher available. So, for these reasons, I have deducted a star. I am tempted to swap out some of the colours here with AB drills as I think that could take this picture to the next level. Once I have finished my current Work in Progress, I will make a start on this and update my review should there be any issues. Four out of five stars from me.
