This is a heavy chain and lock which can be awkward to use but once it’s on it’ll take some getting off if someone takes a shine to your pride and joy! I use it in conjunction with an Ankr which is fixed to a wall.

I bought this for my e-bike because I was paranoid it might get nicked, and I liked the combination of D-lock and chain. It's a bit of a faff to get on the bike, but I like that you can thread the chain through itself, use it with chain and D-lock, or use just the D-lock, so it has a lot of variety. I like the added z-lock, which is basically a strong zip-tie, which makes it easy to attach the whole thing (which does weigh marginally less than King Kong's baby) to my rear rack. I also use the z-lock to thread through the back wheel and the rings on my bike cover, for another annoying layer that thieves have to get through. It was expensive, but my bike was pretty expensive too. if I had to quibble, I would say that the D-lock is a bit narrow, but to be fair, I think it's made that way so that there is not too much give between the lock and whatever you attach the bike to. It would make it difficult to get an angle grinder in there, I think (cross fingers). I combine this lock with a On Guard Bulldog (I know, too much? No) when I lock the bike at home as it's stored in a communal place.On balance, I think it's worth the money because it's strong, and it's versatile.

I've used Hiplok for years in the past and wanted something a bit extra for my electric bike which is too heavy to take up and down stairs. And it's as easy as pie to get around the bike and lock

This is a high security level lock and chain, high level required to meet insurance requirements when electric bike secured in public areas. As with all these locks with a chain the weight is considerable. My bike has a storage case and rack fitted over the rear wheel. To carry this in a rucksack on my back for me would be uncomfortable due to the weight involved. The chain and Ulock are excellent quality.

All the most secure U locks tend to be rather small for mountain/e-bikes unless you are able to get right up against a secure stand and this just makes all the difference!Down side is you now have to carry a heavy chain as well, for which I have had to get a pannier bag as it is to heavy to loop over shoulder and I for one would not like to fall onto the chain or lock should the occasion arise.

Heavy duty, and quite heavy. Wouldn't recommend for a push bike. But very useful for my Aventon Abound. The d-lock is too small to fit around the very thick bike frame, but the chain allows need to secure it to bike stands easily
