Amazon Fresh, Dark Chocolate Chunks, Baking Chips, Bittersweet, 12 Oz

Bought these a couple of times and actually prefer them over chips - good-sized morsels, high quality chocolate, have used these in an assortment of applications including cookies, brownies, chocolate cake etc. They melt well, have good texture, and good cocoa content. Extremely value for money!

These worked perfectly in my chocolate chip cookies! They have a great texture, melt well, and rich chocolate taste.

I know that these chocolate chunks taste good since I particularly love semi sweet dark chocolate and I have eaten a few of these now and then for an energy boost. On the other side of the taste though, is the color. For some reason they have a chalky look to them that makes me hesitant to use them in the cookies I had intended them for. For me, the appearance of an ingredient is second only to taste in it's importance to the success of anything you might cook or bake with it. Although I can't remember what causes the chalky color in chocolate, I do remember that it can be avoided. If I were going to serve my chocolate chunk cookies only to family, the color wouldn't bother me. But anytime I make something I intend to offer to friends and/or acquaintances I want to be sure that it looks as good as it will taste. I haven't baked with these, so can't really speak to how they do when in the oven. I'm hoping that Amazon will address this and resolve the issue of chalkiness so I can use these in my baking. Generally, I do like the quality and taste of the Amazonfresh brand of products and I try most of them as they debut. I can remember having rejected only 2 items previously and I'm aware that both could be attributed to personal taste. For that reason I never wrote a review of either product and will not mention them here. One thing I would like to add though is that I feel Amazon has been able to hold their edge against other food mkts. due to a combination of practices they implimented with Amazonfresh. Only time will tell if they can continue to hold that edge.

Delicious! We use these for baking. We use these in pancakes. We use these in everything that requires chocolate chips. The taste is pure chocolate. Delicious.!

What’s not to like….unless you do not like thick, chunky pieces of delicious dark chocolate in your pancakes and muffins.. we love it!
