As someone who has been coloring my hair since my teens, I have tried a lot of products over the years. Being a little older, dying hair is more of a necessity for keeping up with youthful vanity. Also, as someone who is both cheap and lazy, I'm in constant pursuit of innovative products that are high quality and cost-effective. This is one of those products!!!Due to the conflicting imagery (promoted as a hair color cream for men, but showing only a woman in the product description, although a male cartoon figure is portrayed in the included instructions) and timing for the dye to set (5 minutes to brilliant color? 10? 30 - 40?), I had some doubts.I love that this hair dye can be used as little or as much as needed, and the remainder can be stored for further use (unlike most box hair dye). No mixing is needed. But read the instructions. Really.The color is a nice brown that truly covers grays and blends well with the rest of my hair. It looks natural and healthy. For me, this is a great option when I'm in a hurry or too much of a slug to deal with box color and color shampoos. Personally, it definitely beats the "spray toupee," gray concealing pens, or gigantic hair color mixing/application devices. The scent is not offensive. The product will stain you, your clothing, walls, and porcelain, so apply petroleum jelly to ears, neck, hairline (a pro tip recommended by another reviewer, and a trick all hair colorists know). Be sure to also keep a damp cloth (that you won't mind being stained) with a drop of baby shampoo or liquid soap to dab away stray droplets on yourself or surroundings. The comb applicator is fine for short hair or touch-ups, but for a full application or long hair, a wide-tooth comb or even a basting brush will be more effective.I know this product was developed with men in mind, but anyone who colors their hair would probably like using it. The Chestnut Brown is close to my own shade, but if the formula can be made with other colors, that would be even more awesome.

This men's hair dye gives great coverage just when you need it. Easy to use. Just follow the provided instructions. Great root coverage. Use everyday. Or just when you need it. Doesn't bleed or transfer. Easy to use. Love it.

I had been using the name brand touch up - and wanted to try something different. There's some good and bad points. If you've used the name brand version J.F.M. (not sure if I can say it) - This is better because you don't have to mix it. AND you get a pretty large tube that you can use multiple times. Color is good and the included brush concept is a good idea but a little wasteful and could be softer plastic. On the other hand, the instructions are kind of basic - and they don't give you a "SET" amount of time to leave it on....although they say 40 MIN is the starting point, not 10, as stated. It also smells more than the competition. It comes with a plastic cover - use it - as any you get on the sink will stain if you don't rinse it off/down COMPLETELY. I also will say, my hair is SHORT - and the dye - at least on ME - left a darker shade in my skin wrinkles. It probably wouldn't be noticeable if your hair was longer, but I could see shadows of where the dye also dyed my skin.

I needed to touch up my roots to black, so went with this kit instead of a whole box dye set. I loved that it came with gloves, and small cape to protect your clothes, and a brush applicator for your roots. I didn’t leave it on for the full 45 mins recommended but I still ended up with nicely blended roots that were so soft and healthy afterwards. Great product
