Love it - Consistent Brews Achieved!
I started drinking pour overs a few months ago and naturally purchased a Switch/v60 based on it being the most popular dripper on the market. The v60 though is pretty complicated to produce a consistent cup based on the user's actions & though (i.e.. pour rates, timing, pour height, pour movement in the dripper, etc.). I read out there that the Kalita Wave is more consistent but offers less variation in flavor and that sounded more ideal at this time in my personal coffee journey.Great tasting brews that are CONSISTENCY is what you will get with this dripper and I am very pleased after using every morning for about 3ish weeks now! I have found that recipes online are more straight forward and simple as well. I tend to drink medium roasts the most, a few Ethiopian lighter brews (nothing ultra light), and even produced a few really great tasting decaf brews with the Wave so far!As far this specific model, the Kaltia Wave Mino in sand black, it looks excellent on my counter with the rest of my coffee setup. I has never clogged like I read with the traditional stainless steel model. With the Mino being ceramic, it helps keep higher temp while brewing, especially more than plastic or glass. I was between this model and the top end Tsubame (steel/copper model) and 100% happy I choose the Mino.

A different kind of dripper. . .
Nicely made ceramic piece that has a different kind of configuration for the exit holes. . .ensures an even extraction and speeds it up at the same time. . .very nice looking. . .I've been preferring it over my V60 and Origami dripper lately. . .worth a try!

Too fragile
The base broke after two uses. I bumped it on the counter when dumping the grinds. Not even that hard.

Looks and works great
Beautiful finish and avoids some of the stalling/sticking issues seen in other Kalita waves.

Beautiful BUT fragile
My first Kalita Wave and I wanted to get the mino ware version since it's really beautiful. Makes a great clean up of coffee BUT if you are not careful, these can break super easily... just happened to me this morning - a part of the bottom round holding part broke when it was knocked over in the sink (not a hard knockover). Only used it maybe 5 times at most so far so it's super sad. Get the non pottery version unless you are super careful all the time!
