Well made and fits into drain port of most water heaters
A very well made product with silicone end sealing, strain relief and high temperature wire. All stainless steel, this heater element is beautiful and should last a long time. I tested the exact resistance of it with my high current 4 wire ohmmeter and it was 0.766 ohms. This is just what the calculations predicted for a 12V 200W element. This is recommended to be powered by a 12V battery only which can supply 17A. A 12V 200W heating element is not a good match for a 12V 200W solar panel as it can only produce about 76W maximum from the 10A that panel could supply. Solar panels are 17-20V and a 24V element is a much better match. In the last picture is the power point solar controller I will be using this heating element with. Electronically this matches the load perfectly to the solar panel for highest efficiency.

Works Great Heating Water
The heater works well and can heat 1 gallon of water to 111 degrees F in under 30 minutes. The one suggestion I have is be careful of not to kink +/- wires going into the base.

Heavy Duty
Wow. I was surprised at how big and beefy this thing is. All stainless. Nice finish. Great sealing job at the wires. Actual diameter of the rod is .744 inches. I haven't load tested it yet, but will update if I find anything off about it.This item would be great for a solar-powered animal trough heater in the winter, a solar/wind/hydro dump load, a waste vegetable oil heater, etc.
