I mean, it tried
In theory, this is a really cool piece, but in execution... the magnets are too strong, making the spinning impossible. It will do half a rotation and aburptly stop

Terrific product
Great to look at while thinking after giving it a small push without taking away from the decor of your desk or shelf like some other kinetic arts do. Plus it’s silent which is great if you like quiet while working

A bit of a disappointment
This could be an interesting gadget...if everything aligns just exactly right. In my case, it doesn't.The base is some sort of fabricated wood painted with a smooth black finish. The metal rings are shiny chrome. The linkage between the 2 rings and the lower magnet is a piece of waxed string, and this seems to be the source of the problem. Getting the rings to actually levitate requires matching the magnetic force between the top and bottom magnets. These forces increase as the rings and magnets get closer to each other. But, because these distances are controlled by nothing but some waxed string, there's not much precision and the distances change as the string stretches. The end result is that either the rings are touching the upper magnet or the lower cone-shaped magnet is touching the base. No levitation.

Nifty conversation piece
This magnetic levitation display will not stump any reasonably knowledgeable adult for more than a few seconds, but, it can definitely cause a double-take - because, indeed, the rings are suspended in midair, visually held up by what is clearly a thread that can't actually hold anything up!Of course, the magic is worked by a magnet in the topmost part of the outer ring; the inner rings are metal, and the thread is to keep the rings from floating all the way up to contact the magnet. Instead, they just float there, where they can be free-rotated by air currents or a curious finger. The base is just a piece of plastic that the outer ring mounts into. There are no batteries or other electronics; this is simply a magnet, and so will never wear out or have any external requirements.Considering that it's just plastic and wire though, it seems a bit overpriced. But it looks cool.

Doesn't do what it claims to
If I'm being completely honest, this is useless and I would not order it. I really liked the prospect of having a nice permanently rotating item as decor from my desktop but it doesn't do what it claims to. I normally don’t give out one star unless it is truly bad. This was terrible.I set it up exactly as suggested but there is no way to get it to move beyond maybe three or four rotations on just one of the rings. I contacted the vendor to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. I let them know that I followed the directions provided and tried to get it to work. I asked if they could help with setting it up. I got the frustrating response that told me I needed to assemble it first which, of course, I knew and had even explained. Their reply was nearing condescending as they suggested I just wasn’t patient enough to complete the set up. They offered no additional information. While the feedback is a bit mixed, given the sort of lackluster response in terms of the reviews, I wouldn’t give this a second glance and would try elsewhere.

Delicate
This is an interesting piece. It's a bit fiddly to set up and you need a very delicate touch to spin the circles. The circles spin once or twice before stopping. Definitely made for an adult - or someone with patience! But it's also interesting looking just still. It's very modern and simple.

I really like it.
I know some people have said that it's hard to set up, but those people probably didn't read the instructions. They say that the top ring must be attached to the top magnet. It's very easy to think that you could suspend the whole thing, and I actually got it to do that as an experiment, but it's super tricky, and besides, that's not how it's supposed to function. Once I set it up, I spun the smaller ring around, and it spun for about 30 seconds. Pretty cool conversation piece!

Not mesmerized
I was excited when I ordered this levitation product. But it's just not that impressive in person. First I feel like that base is way too big for it, it just takes too much space. When you push the small ring, it moves (and sometimes it fall) and the other rings move but not fast and it slows down fairly quick. Also it to a minute for both of the magnets to stay. It was just okay. I would not order again.
