MerrellMen's Speed Strike 2 Hiking Shoe

Wow these are comfy. I wanted dedicated hiking shoes and these caught my eye. Never wore Merrell before, so I rolled the dice. They are stylish, lightweight and true to size. I have a wider foot and almost chose the wide version. I’m glad I didn’t because these have plenty of room. Haven’t tried them hiking yet but I have a good feeling they will do exactly what I need.

I'm a women's regular size 8 but wanted a wider toe box. I ordered the men's size 6 and it fit perfectly. It's breathable and the mesh is heavier duty than typical tennis shoe material. I can wear them comfortably in warm or cold weather.

Usually I don't buy online but decided to take a chance on these Merrells. Wow, what a great shoe. It fits really well, is comfortable, and really supports my feet. So far so good.

Really nice shoes for walking & hiking. Nice color and available for very wide feet like mine.

These are marketed a black, but they're more like 50 shades of gray. The only true black portion is the leather like trim on the shoe. The mesh areas are more of a dark gray or smoky black ( at best). The light gray midsole is much lighter then it appears in the photo, something I do not particularly like.These do run narrow, as complered to my other Merrells, but not enough to be a real issue.at least not yet.Amazon did recommend a wide width , but that option was not available.(?) .The sole is rather sticky out if the box, will have to see how that goes after some wear.Wishing i had gone for the all black mid top version , but they were $40 more, and I'm not sure how they would look for casual wear.

Surprisingly tough, breathable and comfortable shoes. Brought this for some intense hiking in Banff and some challenging routes in Colorado. The only thing I will note is that this is not water proof. Certainly will take this for other hikes!
