Rock ‘n Roll
This is a nice pen. A few short weeks ago I had zero fountain pens, now I have 6 and 2 more on the way. The fountain pen and ink hobby really has power. This is my first Jinhao pen. The nib is massive compared to the other pens I have gotten a hold of. Some pet peeves though. 1 it’s about a $15 (round up tax etc) and it comes in a cheap plastic resealable sleeve. I don’t expect it to come in a classy box out of some exotic wood, but more protection, especially during shipping than a sleeve. 2. The metal parts feel like chrome coated plastic. 3. The nib is like a faucet for the ink. When in use it just drips out. But those things are not serious, the things to like about this pen far outweigh the cons. It’s is lovely to hold. The acrylic/plastic feels well made, smooth and really high quality. I like that. If a Bic stick pen is the base this plastic feels like a Bentley. That’s nice. I like that. It writes really smooth. Really smooth. It’s a joy to write with. And my penmanship is even better with this pen than standard roller ball point pens. Terrific. Even though this is on the cheaper side of fountain pens, it writes well, it looks great, love the guitar and colors and how the ink looks when it is inked up. I inked it with Diamond Writer’s Blood which was a terrific pairing. In the end I love this pen. I love other pens too, but this pen is fun to write with, love watching the ink hit the paper and I would buy it again

ABSOLUTE LOVE
WHAT A COOL FOUNTAIN PEN! Writes very wet and broad strokes. One thing about these, you should always WASH the nib and feed or factory oils will make it work badly. I see so many people bashing these Chinese pens because they don't do this. The other thing is. you MUST go to Goulet Pens and buy the super high mesh cloth and watch their video on how to use it. It will make any fountain pen write like SILK. BUT it only takes a few light strokes to get off any scratchiness by drawing figure 8's on the mesh with the pen full of ink. I bought that mesh and tried it on my Lamy pens which are all really scratchy and any tilt in your angle they stop writing. Now they too write like silk. Watch their video, because you can also DESTROY they nib if you do it too much, which can happen real fast if you dont learn the method. I have four Jinhao big fat pens and all them are silk writers with bold writing that I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them ALL.

Very nice fountain pen!
I think Jinhao continues to make really nice pens at extremely attractive prices. It seems as if they have gotten better and better with each new model. This pen is no exception. It's nicely weighted. It's a large pen (which I much prefer over the "skinny" pens other makers offer. It's lovely to look at and use. I love the red color. In fact, I filled it with some Yama Buto ink and the pen and ink make a great combination. Smooth writing. Definitely recommended for your collection, along with the Jinhao 9019's and x159's.

Klunky design overall, bad nib
This pen, a veritable memoriam to the Chinese Communist Party, features several symbols commemorating the Revolution. Google it to see an explanation of them. The pen itself is a klunky design, gaudy and clumsy. The big #8 M nib, attractive as it is despite a pair of crossed machetes engraved on it, writes awfully, with hard starts and skips. There's no joy to be found in owning or using this monstrosity. Jinhao was on a streak of some nice new releases, and then ... this. Not recommended.
