This timer is aesthetically pleasing and surprisingly keeps you on task. Something about turning the dial and seeing what time is left periodically makes me very productive. It's not a silly toy but I believe even graduates and doctoral students can even use this to stay on task. It has 3 modes for sound (Loud, Quiet, and Silent (the light turns from green to red)). It has an option for ringing duration for either 30 secs or 60 secs. That's it! The blue dial looks very nice against the white background. The green light is a great function as it tells you it's active. It turns to red regardless of the setting when the time is up. That is what sets this timer apart from other timers. Hence the greatest purchase I've had. It takes 2 AA batteries (not included).

The media could not be loaded. Uses 2 triple AAA batteries. Can adjust volume to be louder or not so loud. I love that it’s just so simple to use my 6 year old can turn the wheel and an easy top button turns it off. Visual and Audio timer for one hour intervals.

Using this clock for everything with my kids from meal times to quiet reading time to brushing teeth. The visual helped them to see how much time was left and the beeping at the end is great, just like an alarm clock in a way. It’s helped a lot.

I got this timer to explore the Pomodoro technique more. I'm pleased with the appearance and operation. Knob is easy to turn both directions. It runs very quiet. I read that direct-turn timers are better than smart electronic ones because psychologically you're more involved in the time setting each time instead of just pressing a button to run a preset time.Build is decent and seems durable. Mechanism is super-quiet. In a totally quiet room with clock pressed to my ear I can barely hear a mechanism running constantly. Alarm can be set pretty loud, or a normal level beeping. Red/green LED on front is of moderate brightness, not super-bright. Worked fine on rechargeable NiMH batteries.

I bought this timer to help my toddler with transitions. It is super effective and easy for him to see how much time he has left, but if you use the actual timer buzzer, it goes on FOR FOREVER! Which, to me, gets old. But, it does help with my toddler because he cannot ignore it!
