Quirky, but it's nice to be able to control the pool heater remotely; Instructions could be better
If you want to be able to control your pool heater with your Smart Home app, then this is recommended. Instructions and on line videos by the manufacturer and YouTubers is lacking, but I was able to figure it out. First thing - the wires are much too short unless you have power and a waterproof box right next to your heater. In my case, there is no spare outlet near the equipment. My setup is a pool shed with the equipment behind. So I prefer to have all my controls inside the shed. If you mount this outside, it should be in a waterproof box. Here are some tips to make this easier. Assuming you have a longer distance to go than what the wires allow, you will want a stereo headphone jack extension cable. In my case, I needed 25 feet to make the run from inside my shed and out to the heater. A standard 3-conduit headphone extension worked. I double wrapped the connection where the sensor jack plugged into the extension with electrical tape to help keep it water tight and avoid having the sensor pulled out accidentally. The sensor fit the drain plug on my Hayward heater perfectly. However, the gasket on the sensor was garbage. it was wiggly and squeezed out when I tightened the sensor into the hole. And sure enough, it leaked when I turned on the pump. The drain plug that was in the manifold also has a gasket, so I carefully removed that from the plug and put it on the sensor and it worked. As others have mentioned, the switch wires need to be spliced. I used some speaker wire I had lying around and connected that using low temp solder connectors with the heat shrink. Just used my heat gun to splice in the wires. I then wrapped them with electrical tape to give extra protection.Once it was all hooked up, it connected to my w-ifi and Smart Home app very easily using 5G. A few tests verified that it worked to operate the heater. Two quirks - first is having such short wires and not having the ability to extend the switch wires without splicing. Next is programming -- I prefer to run my heater on demand, not all the time. So for instance, if I want to have it start on a Friday morning so that it is warmed up and ready on the weekend, I have to program it for Friday. But if I forget to delete that program, it will turn on every Friday even if I don't want or need the heater to run. It would be nice if the programming would allow you to specify if this is a one-time event or all the time. This was only just installed, so I do not have any long-term experience. I'll add to the review if things change.

Works great the Hayward NG heater
Installed just fine, with pretty good range, just make you install it on the side where your wiring is hooked up. Hayward heaters have look ups on both sides but only the wired side works with this adapter.

Short temp sensor wire
This is a great innovative product. The only problem I had installing. This is the wires were too short for everything. The two wires that control the pool heater is not a big issue. The problem.I had was the temperature sensor wire was only three feet long and it needed to be probably eight feet. Because realistically who puts waterproof box and controller close enough to your pool heater and where you could put the sensor. It's always easier to hide the extra wire somewhere versus not having enough wire.
