This is a really well made, salon grade microneedling 'pen', it has a real quality feel to it.The pen is wireless and rechargeable, making it very convenient to use, and sits on a base unit, which is magnetic, so holds it in place easily. You can then plug in (USB) to charge it.It is quite comfortable to use, and the speed function is changed with touch sensitive buttons. When you put the pen on the base, it pauses, and when you lift it again, it begins working at the same setting.There is an LED panel on the pen, showing current speed and battery statusThe pen comes with 20 'needles' over 3 different types, and the instruction explain the different effects of each type, and where on the face to use them.The needles are easy to replace, and just slot in the tip, and you can then twist the tip to adjust the needle depthThe instructions are quite straightforward, and easy to follow.Overall, a really impressive item.

It has to be said that multiple puncturing of the skin with tiny needles does sounds frightening, but in the right hands it really isn't. NOTE - this is a professional microneedling pen which isn't for home use.The top layer of skin is punctured very lightly - again, 'punctured' sounds painful but it's minimally invasive and more of a tingle. The tiny holes created help stimulate the skin's healing process - the skin produces collagen and elastin, thickening the dermis, to improve skin texture and appearance and the procedure is often performed in conjunction with face serums to increase absorption of the product. Bear in mind that skin renews itself naturally - babies generate new skin quickly - about 14 days, whereas by my age (60+) it's more like 75+ days - I find my skin definitely takes longer to recover these days..The pen looks and feels professional, it's comfortable in the hand and is wireless operated which is excellent. There's an inductive stand for putting the pen into between uses. As soon as the pen is located in the stand the pen stops working - no need to turn the pen off, the stand pauses operation during use, alternatively the pen can be paused by a short press on the on/off button. This is an excellent innovation that saves battery life. The stand has non-slip feet and the pen is charged by USB-C (cable and charger supplied). The control panel has an LED display that is large and clear giving the user information about speed and battery status.Speed can be adjusted during use which is reassuring for both practitioner and client as it makes the pen very controllable for a personalised experience. NOTE - the pen defaults to speed 1 after it has been turned fully off. The length of the needle can also be adjusted to customise the depth of penetration giving ultimate precision. This isn't a 'one-size-fits-all' device, it's a proper, professional, salon quality piece of equipment.The instructions are simple and easy to follow, and there's a handy guide to suggested needle depth to use on different areas of the face. It's a shame it doesn't come with a storage case or pouch, but that's a minor quibble, apart from that it's a very complete kit.As well as the pen, stand, charger and instructions there are also twenty cartridges included in the kit, which makes this incredibly good value compared to buying the cartridges separately.At £159.99 (as at 12 September 2024) I think this is exceptionally well priced and is a must have for any salon professional.
