100% No-Plastic-Contact with Water and No Chemical Aftertaste
Review is for COMFEE 1.7L Double Wall Electric Tea Kettle. I was surprised that the kettle's appearance was actually much nicer in person compared to the product photos. Design is sleek and modern. The overall build quality appears to be solid. The flip-up switch has a built-in light to indicate when the unit is powered on (this was not shown in the photos). The interior steel vessel is a singular piece (like a thermos) and has no seals that might potentially leak (the corners have a small radius - no weld points). There are no plastic parts that come into contact with the water. Even the underside of the lid is one solid piece of metal. NOTE: my unit had a plastic and metal mesh strainer attached on the inside, which was easily removed via the plastic notches. The exterior is a nicely finished, glossy plastic with a solid handle. Looks like it should hold up well.Heating times (starting with cold tap water to full boil):8m30s with cold water filled to the MAXIMUM line3m10s with cold water filled to the MINIMUM lineI have not owned the unit for very long, but based on the use I've had so far, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nicely designed, 100% no-plastic-contact with water, budget friendly electric kettle.

Great Value and Perfect for Daily Use
This electric kettle is perfect for everyday use. It boils water quickly, has a sleek stainless steel look that matches our other appliances, and the 1.7L volume is just right for our needs. It does show smudges over time from water drops, but that’s expected with stainless steel, and, honestly, the performance and price make it a non-issue. We liked it so much, we bought another one just to keep things looking fresh. Excellent quality for the price!

Outstanding kettle. Holds-up to heavy use.
I bought this kettle to replace another brand that drew too much power, and eventually melted its own base. This kettle heats a little bit slower than my prior unit, but this one shows no signs of failure and still heats the water to a rolling boil. It has a bright LED embedded in the power switch/button that I can see clearly across the room. When the water is hot, the switch/button clicks and the LED goes out. Perfect. There is a water level strip on the left side of the pot which is easy to view and understand. I did remove the fine-mesh filter from the spout. The water pours a little faster without the filter.

Great Kettle but exterior gets extremely hot. The stainless steel type.
It works very well. It’s fairly quick. This kettle requires respect for what it does which is boil water. I live alone and am not overly worried about burns but would be quite concerned if living with someone else who might touch it inadvertently. The metal is dangerously hot when used. I particularly would not recommend it around children. Update, after quite a bit of use, I’m impressed with the quality of the kettle. It heats quickly and operates flawlessly. It’s a pleasure to use.

Handy, efficient water kettle!
GREAT for heating water for French press, pour-over coffee, tea!! Heats quickly, very quiet (compare to a screaming tea kettle at 5:00 a.m.? No thanks)Re: lead warning on the box. There is NO lead component in ANY stainless steel, not even poor quality stainless. The lead will likely be in the soldering in the hot plate underneath. It NEVER touches the water or inside of kettle. It's a mandatory warning.Doesn't worry me 1 iota and I'm particular/ vigilant about my family's health.City water, well water, ANY water will leave a white-ish film inside kettle, as well as spots along the bottom. This is not stainless "corroding," simply non-soluble minerals (mostly calcium carbonate) that are left after boiling. Even distilled water, if exposed to air long enough, can leave a non-soluble film. After a few uses, I wipe out kettle bottom w. a paper towel soaked in white vinegar, rinse, dry. No spots! Or soak in 1/2" of white vinegar if spots are particularly difficult to remove. Our hard well water leaves hefty mineral deposits even after just 1 use so I clean our kettle frequently.I'd love if it had a light along the water level for better visual (not enough of an issue to deduct ratings) This will be great for heating water when canning green beans, etc., over the summer, too! Hoping it's durable over time because so far, LOVING it! Will update if anything changes.

Get it!
Our family needed a replacement kettle and we found this one on a whim and now use it every day. It’s great quality and has all the features of fast boiling speed and auto shut off when it’s done. No sign of rust. Great product!

7 minutes to boil.
Boiled water in 7 minutes flat. Fast enough for me. I like the simple design and stainless in general, so it doesn't affect taste. I got it on sale, so I'm pleased with the results and price.

Works as expected
So far so good. I've used the kettle at least 5 times. Thus far I've had no issues, no leaking! I do struggle with the lid a little. The button you push to open the lid doesn't close it. I have to push the lid down. Not a deal breaker simply an FYI.
