Bought as a gift 🎁 relative has said great choice

I find it’s true what they say, originals are the best and this one is. Fantastically disgusting people eating scenes and scary inbred strong humans. From Scotland we’re aware of the infamous people eating, inbred Beannie family- this is the American version, for horror fans it’s well worth a watch.

Wrong turn is a fantastic throw back to the good old VHS era of slasher movies, a simple yet brilliant plot about a group of 6 people that get stranded together in the woods of west Virginia after a series of events brought them together, while looking for help they stumble across an old house containing horrors like something Leatherface would be into, they suddenly realise its now a fight for survival as they are picked off one by one by a group of hillbilly mutated freaks! There is plenty of great bloody kills all done on a great budget, the settings all look great and give the movie an authentic creepy claustrophobic atmosphere as they are trapped lost in the woods, the cast is all great, Eliza Dushku (Buffy and Angel) plays a gorgeous yet strong female lead, this is certainly a must in the horror collection for me, great movie, good to see a slasher horror with plenty of action and energy too.UK DVD has a decent picture quality (Fox, Pathe)Lots of great features including commentary, making of, deleted scenes, trailers and more.80-mins, Region 2 Pal, 2003.

Its a good film and the person it was bought for thought it was ok too

I first saw this when it came out on DVD back in 2004. It was the first proper horror movie I saw so I will always have a special romance for it. Its pretty comical and isn't without its plot holes but it's still enjoyable. Please don't pay too much attention to the Xray goofs. These are pulled straight off IMDB meaning they are user generated. Some of them arent goofs at all they are perfectly explainable or they are the result of someone who's making something out of nothing. I have watched this movie 100s of times over 17 years and Ive not spotted any of these supposed goofs.

This is a very simple tale of travellers taking the wrong turn and ending up in the backwoods of West Virginia to be hunted down by very nasty inbred deformed mutant hillbillies who also happen to be cannibals.Remniscent of the 1970's exploitation movies ,this film is tightly edited to keep the pace exciting (relatively short movie at 80 mins).Elisha Dushku and Emmanuelle Chriqui provide the damsels in distress while Desmond Harrington is the interpid hero(Miss Dushku slipping into her Faith/Buffy the Vampire slayer role with ease to aid him as they struggle to survive the mutants).A film well worth watching.

No real villain explanation or backstory - or even really development. All the characters are 2 dimentional without much personality. BUT, if you want a somewhat gorey, somewhat jumpy film, this one will do you just fine
