Easy to use and in-depth. 2018 Silverado 1500
I’m definitely not one to leave reviews, however I’m extremely thrilled with this scanner. I’ve been having an on and off check engine light on my 2018 Silverado 1500 since I bought the vehicle in 2021. Usually it only comes on during the Minnesota winter, so having to drive to Autozone or bring it into the dealership is a real pain when it’s -15° out.Getting the scanner and app set up took literally one minute. Captured everything I need from the Vehicle information to the MIL DTC and other stored codes. Some have said the dongle is cheaply made, which might be true, but what difference does it make when it’s discrete and clean. What matters is the ability to hold a connection (no issues), reliability, and that it functions correctly- all of which seem to be true.Definitely would recommend to anyone who is mechanically inclined or if you’re a cautious driver who hates the pesky orange light. You can clear codes, monitor live reports, record your vehicles data. Really a sweet tool.

Inexpensive OBD2 tool for a vehicle owner
Useful scanner tool although likely better for DiY/owner applications than for pros.Helpful to be able to leave the BlueTooth (BT) interface (wireless) plug in the OBD2 port so that the iPhone app can be started with little difficulty when a problem pops up. The BT pairing process is slow and is not always successful, but the app is stable if sometimes slow in operation once the link is established.Unfortunately, each app restart requires that the user re-enter the vehicle VIN for proper operation. Apparently, the phone app does not store this info. This VIN-reentry is really inconvenient if you are starting up the app quickly to capture a transient problem.Overall, the $100 cost (or less w/discounts) is a reasonable investment for the occasional user.

Works well, trouble free and nice app
Works very well for my use. I had a cabled version that did not read some of the manufacture data, this one did and it was very helpful. The phone app is nice.

Well worth the investment! Paid for itself the first time!
Helped to quickly diagnose a problem that we fixed ourselves at zero cost….well worth the investment. Ford wanted 200 to diagnose and 48 hours to do it. It took us 10 minutes☺️

Dashed expectations
I bought this because their website claimed it would read transmission temp on the car I entered into their search. Sadly, it does not. Also, the custom scan function doesn't work either-it does a full scan no matter what I select. I have contacted the vendor and have sent the data captures to them so fingers crossed. It is however, easier to use than the older dedicated scanner I bought from Sears 8 years ago, so there is that. I rarely use my older scanner and when I do, I have to fumble around for several minutes trying to figure out how to do things on it. This innova 1000 is very easy to understand using the cellphone app and runs very well despite the mentioned flaws.

Great DIY scanner for mechanic enthusiasts
Great product. Able to show so much more than just the check engine light. Was able to diagnose a transmission issue as it read codes that didn’t trigger the CEL.

Big Functionality in a Small Package
I am not a mechanic and only want to have a scanner to tell my mechanic an error code if I'm far away and can't bring the car in. I used to have a scanner that I bought many years ago and for a very small price. This scanner did not identify my ABS/Traction Control problem. I did some research and here is what I found:Very basic scanners only determine engine error codes, which are standard for all cars.More advanced scanners (and this is one of them) are capable to give error codes specific to makes/models, such as my ABS problem.Still more advanced scanners can show real time data, which is used in troubleshooting. This model has limited capability in this regard.Still more advanced models can control the car, for example tell the car to open a window, unlock the car, etc.Money-wise, some scanners after one year require you to buy a yearly subscription. This one does not. Some scanners only support 1 car and require you to pay for second, third car, etc. This one does not. Some scanners are large. This one is tiny.Price-wise, scanners start at about $20 and go to about $50,000. If you are looking for diagnostics-only, non-real-time model, small size scanner that supports most error codes from most brands, this one is very good. In the sub $100 price range I found only one other device with similar specks. If you are looking for a similar device with a little more or a little less functionality and price, check out the comparison table on the manufacturer's website. Also look at the YouTube Video that compares the scanners that this company makes. All the other scanners from this manufacturer are going to be larger and non-Bluetooth. Some will have more functionality, some less. Some of this functionality you may need, some you may not. Finally, if you have this device and want to buy a used car, the owner may have cleared the error codes. Drive it for 20 minutes and plug this device. Most error codes will reappear and now you know what problems this car has.
