I worked 20 years in HVAC and I remember back then this type torch would cost over $100. This one functions just as well as the one I had back then, and not only that my old one I had to use a striker to ignite it. Good tool, I have already silver soldered a few joints with it, and yes it works fine with Mapp gas.

WORKS PERFECT. I CAN MOVE IT ALL AROUND UP AND UNDER AND DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT LOSING FLAME . IT STAYS LIT. UNLIKE WHEN HAVING THE HEAD CONNECTED RIGHT AT THE PROPANE CYLINDER . WHEN YOU FLIP THE CYLINDER OVER....IT WOULD GO OUT. BUT THIS WAY IT DOESNT GO OUT !!!PERFECT. TY.....YES I WOULD RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND !

Great torch, it's a little loud but works fantastic

i was a little worried it was being over hyped and I'd be sorry I didn't stick with bernzo. However, in one day I put it through it's paced and it performed exactly as well as my 40yr old bernzo igniter torch on hose (which a plumber working for me stole)I can leave the gas on with the burner out but ready. The only thing I won't know is some, not all igniters from this country break pretty fast. If that happens I'll revise this review. But it's an initial 5 star. And it really deserves a 4 star for good but not amazing build quality but the 5th star is because this is less then half the cost of the major brand name. Closer to a 1/3. That deserves a start

The media could not be loaded. This torch setup performs really well with Mapp gas; able to melt gold and silver, which if you know anything, melts at very high temperatures. Can also be used with propane cylinders. Very easy to use. Connect to a cylinder, check for leaks, turn it on counterclockwise, press the trigger and it automatically lights. You can even keep it lit by pressing the button on top of the trigger. A very nice setup. Hose has been run over by a car a couple of times and is still intact so good durability and has not leaked yet; tested with soap and water.
