The figure is great. An updated version of the same Gordon that came as a 2 set with 'ninja' bruce, with 2 whole accesories. Most of the other Mattel 'Batman' movie masters dont have ANY. The problem is,these figures ae difficult enough to find, without the added trouble of 'store exclusives'. So when you do find one,the price is for lack of a better word: insulting. Great addition to a set though.

Jim Gordon has always been one of Batman's most stalwart allies. Even during the earlier days when Batman was viewed as just a myth or a simple vigilante, Gordon recognized that Batman could provide a service to the good people of Gotham which no one else could. In Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, Gary Oldman has masterfully played Gordon as the "one good cop" who is beyond corruption. What will Gordon's part be in the Dark Knight Rises? At this point, who knows? At least we can enjoy this fine Jim Gordon figure from Mattel's The Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters. The figure is exclusive to Wal-Mart, but is actually a repaint of an earlier Jim Gordon figure from a 2-pack in Mattel's Batman legacy line. How does he stack up against other figures in the line? Pretty well, actually! Read on:Positives:+ I really like the color scheme of this Gordon. His dark blue trench coat and black suit are much more striking than the brown and tan of the original version of this figure. The likeness of Oldman is pretty decent for a mass market figure. While eyeglasses don't often look good in smaller scales, Gordon's look pretty decent.+ Gordon comes with some a few cool accessories. He includes the pistol his original figure came with (a fairly nondescript handgun) and a new accessory: the axe he uses to smash the Batsignal at the end of the Dark Knight. Honestly, it is a very cool, scene specific accessory, and that's something Mattel really hasn't included in their Movie Masters figures. Most Movie Masters figures haven't even included one accessory, so this is really a nice treat.+ Gordon actually includes a piece of the build-a-Batsignal! I didn't expect for an exclusive figure to come with one, so I was even more impressed when I learned that Gordon came not with just another piece of the Batsignal but a variant piece: the shattered lens of the Batsignal! Very, very cool! Coupled with the axe, this allows you to nicely recreate a very iconic scene from the end of the Dark Knight.Negatives:- I'm willing to delete this if I'm just missing something, but one thing really odd about the shattered batsignal lens is that the bat logo doesn't seem to attach to the lens in any way. The package seems to show it attached, but I cannot figure out any way to make this happen. If this is really the case, it makes no sense. If I'm missing something, I'd love to know how to attach it.-Minor nitpick, but the paint on the handle of the axe was peeling off in the package. My axe has a nice large spot on the handle with no paint.Overall: I really, really like this figure. I'm always happy when supporting characters in story get represented in a toy line. Batman, Robin, and others always get figures. Major villains like Bane and the Joker always get figures. Rarely do characters like Gordon and Alfred get represented, so its nice to see Mattel recognize them in this line. Gordon would be a great figure if included in the line, is exceptional as an exclusive, which tend to usually be weaker figures. Mattel really put a lot of thought into making this more than just a simple variant. It's fun, iconic, and well thought out, even if I can't figure out what to do with the Batsignal emblem on the lens. Now we just need a Rachel Dawes in the Movie Masters line....

A Hero Can Be Anyone
"Even someone doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy’s shoulders to let him know the world hadn’t ended."Just when you think its over... there is one more surprise and its a good one. Walmart with its solid reputation hands out a remarkable item for eager toy collectors. That item is a Commissioner Gordon action figure. Now Mattel has already created a James Gordon action figure which was sold jointly with a Batman Begins action figure that was called the Batman Legacy Collection which celebrated a collection of Batman figures from various other stories. With Movie Masters Collection taking hold this figure is finally not only sold separately but is used to recreate the climactic end to the The Dark Knight in which Commissioner Gordon takes an ax to the Bat Signal. This is a pretty cool toy. Basically its a repaint of the Batman Legacy Collection figure. Whereas the original figure had a tan raincoat and gray suit, this is a dark raincoat and suit. The best way of putting it is that the Batman Legacy figure is Detective James Gordon, this figure is Commissioner James Gordon. This figure includes two accessories, a pistol befitting a cop and an ax that was used to crack the Bat-Signal. Also included is an alternate lens used for the Build-A-Bat-Signal in the Dark Knight Movie Masters 6-Figure Collection, making this an alternate component for Officer GCPD Blake which has the working lens. Putting this in place takes the fun out of the Bat Signal, with the LED not shining enough light through the cracked lens with the stray Bat symbol.Still its a nice thing to get.
