A Good Frame to Build Upon: Just a Couple Key Missteps
So, I've played around with a few systems, and I picked this up as a long-time fan of Old School Runescape. There's a lot of solid good here, but there are also some major flaws.First, the good. It does the Runescape world justice. From the items to the NPCs, and the lengthy world description, it nails it. Even the presentation of all those features is a homerun. It really captures the tone of the game. The dice system is easy to pick up and play, as well. However, leveling is weird as-written, and I'd have greatly appreciated a proper experience system for skills. You just get to advance the skills you used at the end of the session. If a skill is bad, it's going to be bad until the end of the session and probably for several more if it started low enough. As-is, you have to dump your skill points into your main combat skill, or you're not getting anything done for your first few sessions. I highly recommend some light homebrewing for when you get to increase your skills. There also aren't any skill level requirements for gear. If you have the materials to make something, you can make it. If you find a rune platebody somehow when you first start, you can wear it. There is a homebrew system for this online that adds requirements, and it fixes it well. All in all, it's a good frame with all the Runescape goodness you want, but it's also one that you're going to want to make some houserules for to balance it out. Just a couple core mechanics being tweaked a bit before launch, and it would have nailed it.

Disappointing
You can tweak the game to make it good, but playing by the book isn’t great
