These are fine for turning thin straps and as there ae quite a few sizes and quite long they are worth buying just for that. You can iron the seams flat on them if don't want to also put an iron crease the strap before turning them. I did need a bit of practice finding just the right amount of fabric for the tool to grip to turn the straps right side out.

I'm making roman shades for my sewing room and I have to sew "tubes" into the shade linings for the necessary rods. The largest of these bars is the just the size I need for this . I fold the lining over it, use a zipper foot and sew away. The tubes come out straight and even which makes inserting the rods a breeze - perfect!I realize this is an unusual application for these but it works REALLY well and as I regularly make loops for household items and decor items too, they're great to have on hand.
