Low price if you need something fast, has some issues.
I realize you get what you pay for. I needed a case fast and these are readily available. To get a similar style case from a company like Anvil or Calzone, it would have taken more time and been 2x the price. The case appears well built, but looks can be deceiving. The hardware is ok but not great. My biggest issue with the case, however is that the ends of the bottom bend under the weight the of the Allen & Heath Avantis mixer it was made to house. This means that when it's time to put the lid on, it doesn't line up well and because the interlocking metal edge is bent. So you have to fight it. This issue didn't happen over time, It happened right away with no abuse - just the weight of the desk. That alone would prevent me from purchasing another. Either the metal edges are too flimsy or the wood used to make the case is just too thin. In any case, it's a disappointment and this issue needs to be fixed.Other things I don't like about this case: the "brush" material at the edge of the doghouse lid to keep out dust is a pain to deal with. It makes it more difficult to close the doghouse while at the same time trapping heat in the doghouse. Every other ATA mixer case I've used has never had this "feature" and it's not necessary. I'll probably remove it at some point. The other thing that bothers me is the type of latches used for the lid. You either have to pull them all the way out once unlocked or the hook catches on the other side, and they take a good amount of force to pull all the way away to make sure they don't snag. I'm sure the spring loaded type used on my other pro cases are more expensive, but I would glady pay more to have that quality.
