Princess Peach Gets Her Own Game!
About time!! This game is as well crafted as any Nintendo game. Fun characters, stunning levels, good puzzle mechanics that aren't overly difficult for your kiddo to figure out. If you have a child who is tired of playing as Mario all the time - this is definitely worth the investment!

It's Showtime!
Decades after her lackluster debut game on Nintendo DS, Princess Peach finally gets to headline a game worthy or her character. If you had the opportunity to download the demo on the Switch eShop you've got a pretty good idea of what you're getting with PPS. It's most definitely style over substance, but oh what style it is! It's one of the prettiest Nintendo Switch games I've seen, with lots of bright colors and beautiful, fluid animations. Stages offer a variety of things to see with prop-like environments, all themed in conjunction with the transformations she uses in said stages. The villain-of-the-week here, "Grape", isn't the most memorable but she's designed charmingly and I liked the fruit-centric name chosen for Peach's nemesis.Don't get me wrong about the gameplay. Though simplistic, that's not to say it isn't well done. PPS is just aimed at a younger audience as evidenced by the low bar of difficulty and ease of control. There are a few secrets and easter eggs strewn about for completionists. Nothing that will make you break a sweat, but I'm sure you'll be smiling nonetheless.Everything comes together in a package that's very Nintendo, which is to say that although Showtime isn't a high profile release, it IS a high quality release. The flourishes of studio Good-Feel are apparent all over, from general presentation to music. While on the subject I found the music tracks here to be of excellent quality. A few tracks felt like someone had mixed some Disney in with my Ninty. They're beautifully orchestrated for a fantasy adventure like Showtime, ranging from whimsical to punchy when the moods change.I would definitely recommend Princess Peach Showtime to younger audiences, Nintendo-enthusiasts, and above all Peach fans like myself. Despite a lack of true challenge, it was a fun time, and that's what we play games for!

Super fun game.
I bought this for my Daughter to play with on her switch for her birthday and she loves it. I thought it was cool to play it with her and help her past the first level which is pretty challenging to figure out. Its really nice to play a game with my kid with characters I use to play with on my video game systems when I was a kid.

How about a round of applause for Peach?
Yep...I'm a man in his mid-30s, and I enjoyed this game. I'll keep this short and avoid some of the tangents that come up in some other reviews.**Pros:- Finally got another Peach-exclusive game (Come on guys, even TOAD got his own game...)- Very stylized and appealing visuals/theme, reminiscent of the Mario Bros. 3 "stage play" theme- Variety of character mechanics is quite fun, something for everyone here.- Jokes and nods to the various tropes is well-done- Music is great, very catchy songs in this game.- Some of the Floor Boss battles are quite clever and fun- Difficulty is fine...not too hard to clear for casual players, but with challenges for hardcores too.- Gotta admit...it's pretty darn cute.- Nobody asked me to get a Battle/Season Pass, buy in-game currency with real money, schlep day-one DLC, or maintain internet connection to enjoy this game.**Mehs:- Load times can be annoying, but it's nowhere near as bad as Age of Calamity- Only get 3 levels/missions for each role. Lots of different roles, but that means you don't get too much content for your favorite role(s). (More please!)- Floor Bosses (except final) don't use any of the special "roles". Last one that does wasn't all that interesting of a battle IMO.- Has some endgame content, but nothing that pulls me back in immediately.- Tutorial/Control UI could be better. For a game that frequently switches mechanics, they should have put more time into explaining the controls for players.- "Practice Range" areas of some kind would have been a good idea? Theming to the different roles wouldn't be hard (Swordfighter = Fencing School, Cowgirl = Stable or Cattle Yard, Kung Fu = Dojo or Temple, etc.). Levels aren't timed, but would still have been neat to focus on specific role skills on-demand instead of replaying the whole level.- Still not a fan of the "Duck Lips" style Peach, but that's her current design for artwork.**Cons:- Pretty much standard on Switch games these days, but framerate and performance can get pretty chug. I'd rather stable, fluid gameplay than fancier visuals...but that's me.- Some roles start off with strong content, but don't hold the pace or deliver the same quality as early levels (like Detective Peach).- Inconsistent/poorly explained timing cue changes. Sometimes they'll change from prior levels or *assume* you'll figure out what changed and why. I'm sure there's some "Git gud" comments coming to mind, but this is about explaining changes, not adapting to them.Value is debatable, but this is definitely a solid title and deserves recognition. They clearly put love and effort into it, which really shows when you play the game. Considering what else we get from today's gaming industry, I have no problem giving the game 4/5 stars. Performance is to be expected on Switch games, but I wish more focus was put on it running smoothly. I could do without some of the roles, if it means more stages. All that aside, I hope they make a sequel or get Peach in the running for another solo game. Without getting too into the weeds, they made the game fun and true to Peach's character, without any "pandering" or insulting to anyone's intelligence/sensibilities. Go check it out, definitely worth a play =)
