FiiOFT5 90mm Open Planar Magnetic Headphones

Fiio have absolutely nailed this headphone at a price point well below anything at similar levels of quality.

I have had lots of headphones over the years but these are a different category. I really wanted to try the planar headphones but didn't want to spend $2000 or more. These got great reviews and deserve them. They have great separation and detail but are smooth with great bass. They are very forward or present in the soundfield. I am sure some won't prefer that but I like that sound.

I got these at a good price ($599.00), and thought I would check them out.I love the look, the feel and the heft of them.The sound is very nice with solid bass. The mids are also pretty good and treble is not bright.Very happy overall and will likely be keeping them. I tend to buy, use and resell headphones pretty regularly will stay in the collection.Also, not hard to drive, which is nice for a set of planar's.

Very nice, warmly tuned planar headphones. The only minus is a strange ticking sound when putting it on and adjusting it on the head. Perfectly made at the factory.

Possiedo già le Sennheiser HD660s e le shure SRH 1540, ottime cuffie dinamiche sia aperte che chiuse sulla stessa fascia di prezzo ( 400 - 500 euro ) ma da tempo volevo entrare nel mondo planare incuriosito dalla tecnologia e dal tanto elogio che essa ha ricevuto per le grande risolutezza e performance che riesce a restituire rispetto ai driver tipici dinamici.ho provato prima le HIFIMAN edition XS anche loro sui 500 euro ( lo stesso prezzo di questa FT5 della FIO ) e non mi ha convinto per un motivo che purtroppo denoto leggendo spesso pareri e recensioni, su tutte le cuffie magneto planari in commercio dei brand più famosi come HIFIMAN , audeze e Meze e che ho riscontrato anche in alcune prove di ascolto con le medesime cuffie in negozi specializzati :gran parte di ciò che è disponibile a questo prezzo e anche superiore, si appoggia pesantemente ad una firma sonora concentrata sui medi e agli alti, evidenziando i punti di forza del driver nei dettagli eccezionali e nel suono organico, come la grande estensione del palcoscenico sonoro che esse sanno restituire, ma la dinamica e la presenza o estensione dei bassi lasciava sempre a desiderare.Bene, queste FIIO FT5 invece, offrono le stesse cose ma bilanciando i dettagli con una firma sonora leggermente più scura ma divertente e lussureggiante e con un ampio palcoscenico sonoro.Rispetto alle mie Sennheiser HD660s e le shure SRH 1540 siamo ad un gradino molto più alto.l'FT5 abbraccia un'accordatura a forma di U con bassi a impatto ma senza essere predominanti sui medi e alti.Descriverei il suono come più caldo rispetto alle altre magneto planari come audeze LCD-X, a hifiman Sundara o all'Ananda, e alle EDITION XS, il che gli conferisce una posizione unica sul mercato.Le frequenze basse raggiungono l'impatto e la profondità giusta senza sporcare o impastare nulla.Ho scoperto che i pad in pelle estendevano leggermente di più le frequenze sub-basse, quindi c'è più rombo e più punch. Questi sono i pad che vorrete scegliere se vi piace l'impatto nella vostra esperienza di ascolto, mentre i pad in tessuto offrono un suono più bilanciato con un punch più orientato sulle medio- basse.A prescindere dalla tipologia dei pad usati, Il basso è sempre bello veloce e risoluto, perfetto per esplosioni, musica elettronica e grancassa nei brani rock e metal.La ricchezza e pienezza del suono che queste cuffie sanno restituire è molto divertente ed una delle migliori esperienze planari per rilassarsi e godersi l'ascolto oltre che ai micro dettagli che esse sanno restituire.Gli strumenti, hanno una nitidezza e una chiarezza che mi sono piaciute molto. Chitarre acustiche, archi e pianoforti risuonano con una chiarezza naturale che attraversa tutto il resto del mix.Il palcoscenico è abbastanza buono. Non sono i più ampi che abbia mai sentito, ma hanno una profondità sufficiente per creare un'esperienza di ascolto coinvolgente con un profondo senso della messa in scena, come se si avessero altoparlanti su entrambi i lati della scrivania.In conclusione un ottima cuffia, bilanciata e divertente. È meglio della concorrenza? dipende: Contro le Sundara, direi certamente.. Rispetto alle Ananda e all'LCD-X e Edition XS, questa è una scelta più difficile e pesa molto di più sulle preferenze sonore personali.Si tratta di una cuffia audiofila che non si appoggia alla solita accordatura audiofila così pesantemente come la concorrenza, il che la rende molto più divertente e piacevole per l'ascoltatore medio.per me è quella che cercavo!

If your spending around $500 bucks for a set of planar magnetic headphones you know that it's gonna need an Amp/DAC. These are really nice headphones, they have a really good soundstage. they have bass, but not an over the top V-curve. really good for most of my choices of music, from hip hop to hard metal. I reccomend looking into a DAC with USB C if your just starting out, this should make it so you can use it with your phone/tablet/computer.
