Sounds good
Sounds good for the price.A little concern on tuning stations. Strong local FM stations come in well without extending antenna. Sometimes worse with the atenna extended. Just a little weird.

Cute little AM/FM and HF (shortwave) receiver
The BL-108 is small receiver almost small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. I couldn't test the AM reception because there are no AM stations within 100 miles of where I live. I could hear faint distant AM signals though. The FM performance is fair. It has a 3 watt audio amplifier and the audio from local FM stations is pretty good. It would certainly get loud enough and pretty hi fidelity although purely monophonic. For a compact FM radio it's not bad. The shortwave receiver it seriously lacking though. There is no way to connect an external antenna which is almost always necessary for good reception in the HF (shortwave) spectrum. There is no noise blanker or any other way to deal with QRM (man made noise) or QRN (atmospheric noise) like DSP. The receiver has no BFO (beat frequency oscillator) so tuning of Single Side Band (SSB) signals is not possible and in the HF region a very large number of signals are SSB modulated like Amateur Radio signals so you will be missing allot with this simple receiver. It also does not cover the whole shortwave region from 1.5 to 30 megahertz. The coverage on this receiver is 2.3 to 21.95 megahertz. This covers most of the shortwave bands that have general broadcasts like commercial radio signals. The digital front end is passably usable with some funny quirks, but it does have station memories although the spec doesn't mention how many memories there are. This radio is not expensive but for the price I suspect you could do better. It looks nice though.

Large knobs, and sturdy design with at a bargain price
Refraining from the preamble of codswallop...this radio positively shares some retro design concepts with my 2019 Toyota 4 runner----rugged design; large volume and tuning knobs (appreciated in bitterly camping cold weather when using gloves or those with non nimble fingers). I greatly applaud the power on/off button on the top of the receiver, and the use of a rechargeable 18650 battery. The latter battery size is shared with with my hiking headlamps and my offroad bike illumination systems. It receives equidistant presunrise and post sunset broadcasts from AM 1130 NYC (US) and from SW (with the installed whip antenna) 6070 Mississauga, ON (CA), comparable to other portables priced under $40 (US). The reception from FM 91.3---at distance of 16 km (10mi) from the broadcast tower; while hiking in a hilly cavernous state park using earbuds is quite good, although with mono sound. It is compact in size, fitting most coat or jacket pockets. For more distant AM and SW reception depart from your urban residence inundated by ubiquitous RFI; and plan to travel to a distant shore line or land reserve. Bring a portable reel antenna for SW.Most importantly, this item is now the portable radio from my collection--that is the designated loaner--to my younger relations seemingly imbued with the 'deft' touch of a blacksmith; because of its resiliency and large knobs.
