UPDATE IN MAY - BOUGHT 2 MORE VIVOSUN 5' RAILINGS AND INSTALLED THEM IN LESS THAN AN HOUR (82-year old female with tools provided and my own electric drill). FIRST 3 REVIEWED BELOW WERE IN APRIL 2025. ALL LEGS SCREWED INTO WOOD DECKING, NOT CONCRETE. WITH 4 SCREWS IN WOOD IN EACH LEG, THEY ARE VERY STURDY. THERE IS A SLIGHT SIDEWAYS WOBBLE, BUT NOT ANYTHING TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT. RECOMMEND VIVOSUN RAILINGS. --- April 2025- Bought 3 of these Vivosun rails in different lengths to surround my husband's outside ramps. They are sturdy, and easy to assemble (although I forgot to put the caps over the "feet" before I screwed the first one down). They came via USPS (not UPS), so had to make a special trip into town to the post office to get them. There were some scratches on a couple of the rails, but nothing major that I can't touch up with black matte paint. I do have 2 things to mention and hope the person who monitors the Amazon description notes: (1) there is no mention of the size of the top hand rail (i.e., 1"x2") because I wanted to screw one end to the outside wall for more side strength, but couldn't order the wall attachment hardware until I knew what the size of the rails were; and (2) there is no mention of the "overhang" of the top rail when it is attached to the legs. This also would have helped in deciding where to screw in the legs to the deck because I am using 2 sections on one side of the ramp for stability. I bought a 4-step section, and a 2-step section, so there are a total of 4 legs screwed down to the wooden deck on one side of the ramp. The 3rd rails (a 3-step section) will go on the other side of the ramp (shorter because of a screen door opening). I didn't think one long section would be as sturdy as 2 shorter sections with more legs screwed down. Possibly, if I had concrete, it would be been better, but my application only has a wooden deck. All hardware included for wood or concrete, as well as Allen wrenches. No drill bits, though, for screwing the legs down.

I purchased three different sizes to fit my steps. Only difficulty was drilling the holes for the post bases in exactly the correct location. If you get the distance between the holes wrong the project goes to hell! I made a drilling template with some 1/4 inch thick CRS. After that the installation went perfectly.The rails are sturdy and look very good.

We needed a 5-6 step rail for the steps going down to our pool area. The rail shipped quickly and overall was good quality for the money. A couple of tips and some info. If you are drilling into concrete, the concrete anchors included in the kit are not the best quality and are a little short. You really need to measure the depth carefully as you drill. (I recommend vacuuming between drilling the holes - then stop and measure your depth using a nail or pencil in the hole) Note: It is a tight fit between the rail supports/anchors and where the anchor nuts go. Drill bit required is a 3/8 concrete bit and I highly recommend using a hammer drill. Lining up the anchor bolts can be a challenge and be careful to hammer the anchors in with the bolt on the threads about half on. You may need to lightly hammer down on the plate at the bottom and even hammer the anchor bolts to one side/up or down in order to get them lined up. Be careful not to hammer too much side to side or they will move when you tighten. I messed up one and 3 anchors is plenty to hold the railing.

We had a difficult situation when searching for hand rails for the very low 2 steps.Amazonn had them ! They are very nice,sturdy,wrought iron, very affordable too..and they make my porch steps safe for us as well asvisitors...Get them , Easy as drilling holes for the screws. Put slats in place and screw them in..Screws are included...DONE !

Installed last year and it is holding up well to the weather.It fit our stairs perfectly. Increased the safety for my MIL and gd.

I installed this railing just last week. It looks nice and is definitely sturdy, but two issues I have with it. One, there were supposed to be 10, 35 mm screws, but I only received 9. There were extra of most of the other screws and nuts. And two, and most significant, is the instruction to drill holes in the concrete, for the supplied anchors, 4 inches deep. Drilling this deep resulted in the screw part of the anchor to drop down into the hole requiring a lot of different attempts to hold the screw up while placing the base of the railing (with the corresponding hole) over it. The hole being too deep, also resulted in the screw turning when trying to tighten the nut onto it. I was eventually able to get the nut to tighten. However, three of the anchors I had to pull out and replace with other concrete anchors I purchased from the hardware store. The hole (for the concrete anchors) should be drilled approximately 2.5 inches (slightly longer than the length of the sleeve of the anchor). We'll se how the railing holds out over time. Overall, for the money, I think its a nice railing.

Great hand rail my neighbor installed for me. Only thing is he replaced the hardware with some from Lowe’s. That was his preference. So wonderful having a rail to hold onto now, much safer for us senior’s .

The backyard has several spaces that have two steps to access. Aging homeowners. Easy to install, flexible vertical piece needs reinforcement, we put large diameter wooden dowels inside to make the vertical piece stronger for heavier users. Attractive and non-obtrusive compared to other options.
