Travelogue Drawing Book, Square 5-1/2 x 5-1/2, Ivory Black Artist Journal (2-Pack)

I journal as a near-daily practice, and I prefer a large format (A4) when I’m at home. Early morning, at my desk, coffee, fountain pen and my slightly worn journal. Even if I don’t have something on my mind when I sit down, I find that simply putting pen to paper gets the thoughts flowing. It’s cathartic, somehow, even if I didn’t sit down with anything to “cathart”.Point is, this little guy is cute and will travel with me very nicely, without requiring much in the way of space accommodation. Luggage, satchel, seatback, hell…the center console in my car, all offer plenty of room for him. (Oh gosh…I’ve had it out of the box for less than 20 minutes and I’m already anthropomorphizing it. I swear I won’t give it a name!)My larger journal is wonderful to write in but a bit cumbersome to take on the road. There’s also the possibility of losing it, I suppose. All those thoughts, musings, and ventings out in the world somewhere, unescorted, without me? Best to leave it at home I think, and take Harry …I mean “him” …I mean “it” …this journal.I like that I could (scour Amazon for a travel watercolor kit and) watercolor in it, that the pages could handle that with apparent ease. Fountain pens, markers, those watery felt tips, all should be good. And these little journals ship in pairs, that’s also good. Gets me in the practice of using it, and probably buying more.Recommended.

This is the perfect size for art on-the-go! It's well-designed, nice hard cover, and made with quality materials. The paper is nice and thick; ideal for watercolor or gouache with absolutely no bleed and minimal warping in my experience. Good features -- I appreciate the rubber band closure, which actually holds the sketchbook closed nice and securely even when bouncing around in my bag. The size/number of pages makes it perfect for a concise travel art journal, and the square size is great for easy sketching and painting with minimal space required. Glad it came in a two-pack, as I'm already on the second one!

This is a nice set of small sketch books. For an artist who likes to have something to draw on handy this is a good option. The book could easily fit in any backpack, a medium to large purse or even a large pocket.As you can see in the images there is a ribbon to mark your place, an elastic band to hold it closed when not in use and a small pocket on the inside back cover. The paper thickness is similar to medium cardstock.While the small size doesn't work for every situation, the portability makes it a good option if you always want something to sketch in.

These two small blank journals are high quality. Spines firm, elastic closures. The paper is not so thin that writing or drawing would show through to the other side. The covers are tight, perfect black cloth – easy to personalize or elegant as a gift. Would recommend.

These are really nice quality little sketch books. The outside covers are hard and sturdy, and the ivory paper is a nice quality weight. The size is perfect for traveling and getting some drawing in, which I do often. The 2 pack is a great value for the money. I would definitely recommend for pencil and pen sketches.5/5 stars.

I ordered these in black and was floored at how nice the quality is! They're beautiful! Definitely a little larger than pocket size (at 5x5 inches) but still ideal for travel or tossing in a bag for art on the go! The outside is nice and sturdy but soft to the touch and the elastic closure provides additional protection for all your work, they're fabulous!

The media could not be loaded. - This is one of my favorite sketchbooks that I own because of it's versatility.- The paper quality is great that it can handle a light wash of watercolor too.- I used watercolor, gouache, pencil , charcoal and pastels in it and am very happy with how it performed.- The size is perfect for on-the-go sketches.- I take this with me for travel journaling as well as plein air sketching.- It's travel friendly, lightweight. Doesn't take much space in my bag.- Binding is quite sturdy.- It can lay flat and I can use the entire spread i.e both right and left page for single painting.- Square shape is my favorite as it's quite versatile. When you open the sketchbook the entire spread is rectangular shape.- Paper surface is on smother side but it has enough tooth to hold the dry media.

These are cute little drawing books. The paper seems thick enough to hold water color. It is not my main medium but it seems to hold basic marker and pen. What really shocked me was at the back of the book there was a folder for like a cd or cut pics. The folder goes well with adding memorabilia while traveling.
