Q: Are these patches paintable?

Yes. They are able to be painted. We took a piece of siding to Lowe's and had them color match the siding. I'd recommend painting the patch before putting it on the house. Makes for a cleaner finish.

Q: Do you need to prime the patch before you paint it?

No you do not. It has a matte finish to it so it will hold the paint and the color very well.

Q: What type of paint should you apply to the patch so that it could match the texture of the vinyl siding piece better? Gloss or semi-gloss ? Thanks!

We used semi-gloss. If you have large holes that you are covering you probably will not be able to get the texture. Take a small piece of the siding to a store like Lowes. The do a great job of matching paint color. I found it hard to believe they could match old paint exactly, but they did.

Q: what is actual color code, it is brown tan or khaki tan ?

There is no color code, you need to match up your siding color at a local paint store or hardware store and purchase a colored sample to paint the patch.
