A Must Read!!
I attended a talk by this author at an engineering/science conference. I had never been to a a technical talk that brought tears to my eyes. This propelled me to purchase this book. This book bridges the gap between our internal space within us and outer space. The overview effect has rarely been talked about by astronauts.

The detail,and the imagery the author added to the text made for compleling and exciting reading. If you enjoy science and a birds/astronauts eye view of our Big Blue Earth that we call home you will love this book!

This book is powerful!
Frank White is the authority on the "overview effect". After interviewing many, many astronauts, he shares it like it is: looking at Earth from outer space is a spiritual experience--it changes you. Reading his book will help you see that life is a miracle and that our daily problems are really just a sign of bustling intelligence and life on Earth. None of it matters--we are alive!

You don't need to go to space to understand the Overview Effect... thanks to this book.
This book already captured the experiences of many astronauts, and the significantly expanded fourth edition contains many new interviews! See how a view of the Earth from space changed the astronauts, in their own words... and explore Frank White's analysis, including far future projections of humanity's purpose in the galaxy. This should be required reading in space philosophy... for all human beings. :)

If so strong feelings near Earth and tears on the Moon what will happen during more distant flights?
Overview effect needs to be tested and investigated. It's really important. This effect should not be taken lightly. Need to know what it is based on.

Book damaged
The book is famous but didn't get the book new edition in good condition

Too redundant
The entire book could have been summed up and the few unusual astronauts comments described. I ran out of patience.
