I feel very silly, and apologise for leaving such a catty review! The paper is very nice. That will teach me to wait until I have all the facts, in the future... !

I've been painting on and off for years so I know what I'm doing. In the past I've always bought good quality paper but over the years the art supplier's in my area have closed. I used up my supplies of high cotton cold pressed paper and had bought some cheap pads. Nothing on a larger scale worked the paint wasn't doing what I wanted it to and I was quite downcast. Then I saw some thing on Youtube. It explained how paper from different manufacturer's worked. I also watched artist's giving demonstrations they all suggested that Archers was the best and yes it is the best but quite expensive. In the end you get what you pay for.

Absolute waste of money. I have never used arches paper before so I thought this would be excellent. Turns out it dries unevenly making blending impossible and the whole block warps when you paint washes on it. I know its only 300gsm but for gods sake this behaved like a cheap paper. I doubt it was genuine arches paper I recieved. Cant get a refund as I didn't try it out until my other paper was finished. Ah well back to fabriano 640gsm.

took a little while to arrive - but that is more being used to next day delivery than fault of the seller. Lovely paper and sealed on the edges so no more taping. Note, the top sheet is protected by a piece of black card - so don't panic when you open it and think you've ordered black paper by accident!

My first experience of a widely recommended watercolour paper. It's nice and white but rather rougher than most others I've used. I found I need thinner paint mixes as it seems far more absorbent, but being a novice I'm sure there are far more expert reviews than mine

An absolute pleasure to paint on...

I was a bit disappointed at first , the paper warped when it was wet. But. after using it for a few different methods i think it's decent and dries well. Being glued on 4 sides is handy for keeping it flat until it dries

I am a big fan of Arches paper and the landscape blocks are a lovely shape to paint on. These pads are very small but beautifully formed.They were despatched promptly and well wrapped.
