No Instructions No matching network
This antenna is a tremendous disappointment. No instructions. The antenna should be considered as a work in progress. It is not consumer ready. You are getting a boom, two folded dipoles . One of those, the rear one, is the reflector the other is the d driven element. It is headed by five directive elements of diminishing length. That part of the antenna is proper, or to say, well and good, but, both of the key dipoles need to be properly phased AND MATCHED with the 52 ohm feed line or RF input.I anticipate that all elements are cut to the Notional Bureau of Standards specification model.Since this is a short boom and not a wide spaced beam it is a little dubious that it will produce the advertised gain over a standard dipole. The molded supporting brackets for the elements require shims and additional hardware to keep the elements from moving back and forth.Since I have not as yet come up with a proper matching network or connection plan I cant determine the actual forward gain or the FB of this yagi. I have many years experience in building antennas and matching networks, including large curtain arrays. This is an inexpensive antenna that offers a substantial power input. It has potential to be a good performer with a little technical skill and TLC.I am not recommending that any newbie hams buy this antenna. It is certainly not direct connection. It is not ready to go.With proper technical help and construction techniques it could be a good beam capable of handling two or three hundred watts on Two meters. The elements are hefty not spindly. For the time being, it is a dud. I will give it two stars for being a challenging learning kit.

Robust and sturdy but make your own feed
Well I bought this knowing that I would need to build my own feed assembly. I have a stash of twin lead and plenty of coax so it wasn't too difficult. I will say the phasing line should be cut to 10 1/2 or 11 inches because 10 was too short. The antenna is robust, sturdy, I like the element to boom brackets - plastic, so hopefully they will last. Resonance ended up at 145.0 with SWR rising to 1.7 at 146.0. Perfect for satellite work which is my use for it. The mounting bracket allows for horizontal or vertical installation. Don't buy if you can't solder.

The Tarus antenna performs as well as a 2M ZL Special 7 element yagi.
The Tarus antenna performs as well as a 2M ZL Special 7 element yagi. The Tarus antenna will need to have a SO239 pigtail cable, 300 ohm ladder line 10" long used between the Reflector and Driven elements and a 6 inch coax stub.

No paperwork, no instructions, no chance...
The so called antenna arrived without a balun to match impudence, without instructions, in fact no paperwork at all. Thus the antenna is in the process of being converted to a Quaggi as without a matching device it is worthless as sent.
