Light works great until they have server issues.Came home light was on and could not connect.Thank God I bought the extended warranty.Returning. I should have listened to the reviews I read about this very issue.

The media could not be loaded. Thi is the best light on the market for aquascape!All the color of plants and fish looks like 200% saturation in comparison to anything else. I have ADA on two off my other tanks and I'm thinking to switch them to those because my supposed budget tank looks better than my ADAs

For those considering chihiros lights, I would like to share my experience with the brand. I had been using Orphek Atlantik freshwater lights for about 8-9 years with no major issues. But I wanted the RGB look, so in August of 2023 decided to try the Chihiros RGBii 10th anniversary edition as my tank is very large at 10x3x3ft. I ordered 6 of these lights with reflectors, and was initially very pleased with them. Until the controller pcb malfunctioned in one unit in late November, at about 3 months old. Chihiros support sent a replacement pcb that was sent by their cheapest Yun “express”, taking 2-3 weeks to reach me. Just last week, another light unit failed and support concluded that I was using the lights inappropriately in a “closed tank”, and so would not grant me warranty replacement if the pcb in a second unit. Their support was always curt, and downright passive aggressive in their replies. I have reached out to their head officers 2 out of their 6 lights failed within 4 months. While I can tolerate this if their service team was supportive of their customers, I find it intolerable that they refused to honor their warranty as they claimed I was using it in a “high humidity area”!! What are aquarium systems, if not that? If they aren’t prepared to support their lights over a tank, then they should stay out of this business!

I have a lot of chihiros lights and tried a few of their other products like the doser. The non ventilated lights are holding up well so far but the Vivid series has a known failure point; its bluetooth module. once it fails the light becomes useless and good luck with the chihiros customer service. they take weeks to respond and at some point simply stop responding. when you go on their website all their products are very well reviewed. that's because they only publish good reviews (my negative dosing unit review was never published). unfortunately, being a chinese company with no abroad presence they don't seem to understand that customer service is equally important as the products themselves.
