This is the best pick up/ micro mike I have used.
I have been using this on a banjolele, a standard Ukulele and and acoustic guitar. I standard and tonal range is great and it picks up the highs and lows very evenly, when used with no EQ I have found that it performs very well and only small tweaks are needed to get the EQ to your own taste.I was concerned that it may get in the way when playing but this has not been an issue at all on any of the instruments I have used it on.It is very easy to fit to a range of instruments very quickly with the wide range of fittings that come with the product. It even includes a nice neoprene bag to put it in.Overall this has been very good and several friends have bought one having seen and heard mine. Top notch

I bought this to use with my cello, and ...
I bought this to use with my cello, and it works well: pleasing tone. There are, however, feedback/resonance problems when playing in a loud band.

Good communication from the company prior to delivery
Arrived on time.. Good communication from the company prior to delivery. The item is easy to fit and adjust to get the best sound. Good volume control. I've used it whilst playing as part of a trio and it has performed well with no feedback or unwanted noise.

Superb pickup for banjo
This is an excellent pickup for a banjo. I have used it for recording through a sound interface. It provides microphone quality that preserves the acoustic tone of my banjo, without any of the distortion that built in pickups frequently cause. It also amplifies the banjo very well when plugged directly into an acoustic amp. The customer service that I received from Gregg Myers in response to questions has been exceptional. I recommend this product very strongly.

Top Marks Myers !!
At last, a microphonic pick up that works. Great natural sound and it comes with on-board volume control. Virtually feedback free and simple to install yourself. I recommend using a DI box for best results.

Great, but how do attach preamp to banjo ?
Very pleased, but there are a couple of design issues for banjo which could be improved if I’m being critical.1. Attaching pre-amp to banjo. There were all sorts of attachments packaged with the mic. To be honest I wasn’t convinced by any of them and ended up using 2 cable ties to get a sturdy attachment(as many people on the internet suggest). The only issue with this is that I now can’t take the lid off to replace the battery(not without cutting and replacing cable ties, which you wouldn’t really want to do in the middle of a gig). The “excess” cable that some complained of was not a problem at all - simply bundled it into the resonator.2. The other point is that the signal is mic level (low Z), so plugging into a normal guitar input results in a tiny signal/low volume. So you need to plug into a mic input to get the desired results.(a) good news is that you can still use a tuner pedal(but make sure it has hardwire bypass) as hard wire bypass means signal is unaffected by impedance of the pedal.(b) bad news is that most guitar wireless systems are High Z, so can’t use them without destroying signal strength. So would need to but a dedicated low Z wireless (boss wl20L might work but haven’t tried it) rather than using standard guitar wireless system.(c) as a cheap/cheat solution to feed signal into my guitar pedal box I used a behringer ma400 box (wired headphone monitor for about £20) and send headphone signal to Aux in. Not ideal but does the job so can get away with sending banjo via guitar channel rather than using another channel on the mixer. So, my conclusion is that this is the best out there at the moment (previously used a clip on Sax mic which needed phantom power which was awkward at times). It would be a better product(for banjo at least), if there was a better preamp attachment method(even simply some holes to pass cable ties through) and if the output signal was high Z(so you could use any old guitar wireless system to give freedom on stage)That said, I’m not sending it back anytime soon.

best pick up ever
I really don't know how you'd beat this for the price. Used a lot of pickups and nothing ever came close. versatile, easy to fit and amazing sound. So so glad I didn't go out and buy a semi acoustic banjo. Holds its own when gigging

Excellent sound and adaptable
Good quality mic, volume control, detachable foam end, three ways to fit it.Needs a boost to match non-mic inputs; I use a Blackstar LT Boost and firmly recommend it.As it's a mic and not directional, feedback can be an issue, so persevere.
