Recent tests showed I have high sensitivity to wheat and that my body doesn't produce enough of the proteolytic enzyme, bromelain. Turns out this enzyme is responsible for the digestion of wheat. Prior to the testing, I tried to stay away from wheat and bread because of how they made me feel but I did/do still love the occasional piece of fresh baked bread or some pasta. To add insult to injury, I never realized how many products contain wheat, so it seemed no matter what I ate, that wasn't Paleo based, I would have two+ weeks of bloating. After many years of frustration and doctors just trying to give me pills for bloating, I ordered the testing myself to find the root cause. Fast forward a few weeks and I have been taking this supplement for about 1.5 weeks. This, coupled with reducing items that contain wheat, I have already seen a reduction in inflammation and bloating.
