Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 XXL Pack Razor with 9 Refill Blades

The Hydro 5 gives me a really good clean shave at a fair cost.

This is and has been my longtime favourite razor. It works SO much better than other, cheaper brands I've used, like the £1.75 20 disposable packs you can get that carved my skin or the Gillette water razor (it was AWFUL!). I tested other brands to see if they were worth the price at a fraction of the cost of this one, and they really do not compare at all. If you can get this razor, I really highly recommend it! It's also a cruelty free brand (if you separate them from their parent company) which is a switch I've been trying to make.

Good and comfortable shave

These blades do an excellent job for me so will keep purchasing them.

Like most that have written a review, I have used a Gillette Mach3 for decades and thought the rate the blades blunted was normal, On average, the first use of a Mach3 blade was good, but the next time it felt like it was pulling the hairs/bristles out. I assume it was my technique for years and the norm for razors. I bought a disposable Wilkinson razor a couple of years ago and was so surprised that they remained sharp for several shaves. Since now owning the Hydro5 for only a week, I am very impressed how sharp the blades still are, even with just water and no soap. I am never buying a Gilette rzaor again. I have not been given the Hydro5 to post a positive review.

Ok, I've always had Gillette, 30 years or so. And i was sick of paying silly money for fusion blades so I made the plunge. So glad I did, a much closer shave especially on those bits that we have to go over several times with a gilette and still feel missed stubble. I have always used king of shaves, shaving oil so I can't comment on traditional foams, gels etc. They do feel a bit plasticty but after the first shave you get over it and used to them. Also you get an extra day of not shaving as it really is that close. I'm not going back to Gillette.

This is the same product as Schick in the US, which took me a while to realize. It provides for an extremely close, focused shave - better than Gillette multi blades, which I used for years before discovering Schick. Very competitively priced too, and the blades last a long time.

I couldn't do business with Gillette any more after they branded every man in the world a toxic, misogynistic, racist, sexist, bullying rapist. I realised that the best a man could get would be the hell away from Gillette.I therefore shopped around, and I am delighted to have discovered this razor which is better in every way than the Gillette piece of junk I had put up with for years.
