Perfect so far
I have to put my charger outside. I bought this since it has the rfid charging feature just in case I need to use it in the future to control access. I also bought the "VEVOR Electrical Enclosure, 16 x 12 x 6 in, UL Certified NEMA 4 Outdoor Enclosure", which has a lock and a bottom opening, to secure it. Photos attached. Its charging app is quite decent. It has a feature to share charging sessions with others. Havent try it, but i think it would be it is a useful feature for people like airbnb owners. Hope it is as good and last long as their commercial products. They have a range of ev charger products.

Not working
I had another charger before and just replace with this one for more functions but just plug in and show ground fault, contact customer services now.

Do your homework first! Plan for indoor installation and direct wiring.
This is going to be one of those rolling reviews that I return to and update as this adventure resolves. I ordered this EV charger because friends needing to charge up and as preparation for getting my own EV. Road tripping friends with EVs are absolutely famished for charging opportunities. Here’s a chance to be an excellent host. Those little chargers that plug into the regular household socket simply aren’t good enough. Gotta have a level 2.Unboxing: This is a nice nice nice piece of kit. Great build quality and attention to detail. The 25 foot charging cord gives it a great reach. The unit has to be installed right next to its wall socket because that cord is super short. However… I can’t even plug it in yet (wrong wall socket), sooo off to the reviews of earlier versions. What I learned is that the cables and connectors don’t like temperatures below zero. It never gets that cold here, but I’m installing it inside the garage anyways. It’s safer this way. Also, I’m not a huge fan of registering an account during setup or the permanent internet connection. Will this thing work if it can’t phone home? The reviews are generally quite positive except for the super cold weather tests.Mistake one: Not knowing what plugs I have available. I thought I could just plug this charger into the socket that my cloths dryer plugs into. Sure, it’ll take shoving some stuff around, but I’m good with it because the initial use case is helping out visitors. WRONG! My older home has a three plug socket for the dryer, specifically a 3 prong NEMA 14-30. EV chargers require a NEMA-14-50 which is a four prong socket that can supply nearly twice as much power. That means I can’t even test this thing yet.The plan: get an adapter so I can use the dryer socket. Danger – be sure to tell the charger not to go over 30 amps.ALSO – The installation directions say that this charger can do 50 amps if it is direct wired instead of using a NEMA 14-50 socket. The smart thing to do is to get an electrician to put in two circuits. One will be a direct wire connection for the charger and the other will be a NEMA 14-50 socket because I have the feeling I’m going to need that socket for something.

Power cord is very short
I just installed this fairly easy. However power cords only about 12 in Long you have to be right next to the plug otherwise it will not reach. This is my first night using it with my Tesla Model . It would be better if they made it to form a Tesla charging port considering 85% of the electrical vehicles on the market are Tesla . I'll let you know a little longer term update few months down the road.

This is a *serious* EV charger!
I've always been very suspicious about electronic devices sold at the auto parts store or truck stops. Maybe I'm being overly judgmental but when I see equipment from manufacturers that I've never heard of sold at a fraction of what I paid for my 'brand name' device it's hard not to think they might not be a 'good investment'. One thing I've noticed on the occasions where curiosity got the better of me and I purchased a dashcam, bluetooth headset or the like is that the design, construction, presentation, etc. just doesn't convey the vibe of a serious piece of technology. This is a roundabout way of praising the Autel MaxiCharger. My wife has an EV and I've been in the process of setting up charging functionality at home, my office, her office, etc. I get the same feeling about many EV chargers that I do about stereos from the auto parts store. Maybe they work OK, but they don't give off the impression that they're serious technology. The Autel MaxiCharger costs a bit more than most chargers I've seen but for good reason. It's one of the first I've come across that gives a vibe of being 'cutting edge' technology.First of all, it looks great. It looks not only like a piece of high end electronic equipment but downright futuristic. It even has the cool green and black color scheme to complement the silver face. It has a killer mobile app that allows you to do a variety of tasks--monitoring charging, optimize charging, even automatically schedule charging. It feels very well made and that's not the case with some EV chargers I've tried. Love the 25 foot cable and although I'm using mine in the garage the weather resistance reflects the quality of materials and construction. Best of all is the multiple connection options including wifi, bluetooth and ethernet. This facilitates automatic OTA firmware updates--you know, like the kind you get with serious tech devices.I installed it myself with no trouble, though I'm guessing that unless you're really handy with tools and ambitious you might want to call a licensed electrician as the product description suggests. Love this charger--highly recommended!
