I don't normally do reviews, especially for small items like this, but I read quite a few bad reviews on this product and thought to my self it only costs a couple of pounds so buy it and see if it works.Well it does! I've got a 2-port USB KVM Switch so I can switch between two PC's, but the cable has VGA connectors and I needed DVI on one of the connectors.Works perfectly and saved me lots of money trying to find another solution.Thank you StarTech.com

Does what it's meant to do

Bought this to replace apple adapter. Works as expected, only thing I struggle with is it is fiddly to rotate the screws to secure it to the laptop but not too bad to be the reason you don't buy. I also contacted Startech before purchase to make sure it was compatable. Response was quick and precise. Delivered quickly by Amazon.

Bought a new graphics card and a fancy DVI to VGA lead. Picture was terrible, lots of ghosting. Contacted Nvidia and got the usual, check you drivers, update windows etc...Rubbish. Looked on the forums and this baby was listed as the solution. It turned up today, fitted and connected my 10 year old vga cable....problem solved. Great picture no ghosting. Quality piece of kit. Thank you

I bought this in a hurry, but found it was incompatible with the digital DVI-D 24+1 port I needed it for, as these ports don't accomodate the extra 4 pins of DVI-I and require an active converter to convert to analog.This is the sort of adapter that is bundled with an older graphics card without room for an actual VGA port, so this would be a handy replacement if you can't find yours. Fortunately it was cheap enough not to bother sending it back and buy a Techrise dongle for £8 instead.

Excellent product - just what we needed as a convertor for older connectors.

Yeah, it works. Just bear in mind what SORT of DVI connection this is. There are two main types, DVI-I and DVI-D. This is a dual link (they all are now), DVI-I This means there are four extra pins so it wont fit in a DVI-D (have a look on google images for simple schematics). Any decent graphics card will have both, but if you only have one DVI slot, or one already in use - be sure to check which type of connection you need.In summary: good quality DVI-I to VGA connector. Bit pricey but that's in the build quality.

I bought two of these and neither worked. I know items are faulty, because my old one works fine. I bought these as extras and am so annoyed.It is too much hassle to return as postage would be more than the items cost, so they will go to the recycle centre. (A great way to make money though and sad for the planet.)It is a shame Amazon will not allow zero stars.
