Q: Seriously? Smart watches and many dive and aviator's watches are often much larger than 42 mm, closer to 50 mm. How did they come up with this size?

Don't know, but most of my watches are 50mm (Invicta. etc....) or unique specialty watches. ( I have one with 4 face-dials on it!) There is definitely a market need for cases that hold large watches,

Mine are brown. I did an option.

Q: Do you make a version of this case for larger watches -up to 50mm?

I have several 50mm watches that fit fine in this case. Granted it would be tight with 5 across all at 50mm but a few here and there fit fine without touching adjacent watches.

Q: Are the pillows soft and pliable or hard?

Yes the pillow ate soft and pliable. The pillow does have a framing that’s a bit rigid but it soft velour type of material. The soft case I find to be better constructed than the rigid cases I have purchased in the past. Highly recommend.
