With a little work, its great!
This is a budget guitar but with a lot of potential. Like most budget guitars its not really playable out of the box and beginners should beware, you need a friend who knows how to set up a guitar. Intonation was good but the action was too high and the truss rod nut was loose for the first turn so likely no factory adjustment had been made. So with the neck straightened the action was ok. The frets were rough and needed polishing but the nut was cut ok, with fair intonation on the first frets. The sound is great from these pickups and through a decent amp they are really good (always spend more money on the amp!). I have seen stuff written about a fat neck and not tapered. The neck was thin and tapered and played really well with a satin/matt finish, maybe a change has been made on later models? Anyway its a keeper.

Terrific after a bit of work
Cards on the table, I do a lot of maintenance/repairs/upgrades on guitars & bought this as a cheap modding platform, which wouldn't need the pickups changing. Here's my review - sorry it's a bit longBuild quality - excellent & better than many way more expensive guitars I have owned. Nicely set up & playable out of the box, string height & neck relief set up nicely. The neck finish is fantastic, no rough fret ends, really great finish. The frets however were extremely rough & scratchy when doing string bends. They are excellent now after a lot of polishing.I changed the cheap saddles, but that's not really necessary, I just prefer brass roller saddles.5 way switch is top quality as are the control knobs. The tuners didn't impress me, lots of play in a couple of them, they have to keep costs down at this price, but I was always going to change those anyway. So enough of the gripes & on to what's really good, the pickups are awesome. Alan Entwistle designed & I absolutely love them ! The bridge pickup is great for crunchy rock/metal. at the opposite end of the sonic scale, the neck pickup can be dialled in for a beautiful blues tone (I'm slightly in love with it)They seem to have got it spot on with the electrics, controls are very responsive, no crackles & the jack socket is way better than any Squier i have owned. Did I mention how brilliant the pickups are ? 😂My original plan was to change the neck, but it's so good to play & feels perfect. The rosewood fretboard is good & like the feel whatever I'm playing. So in conclusion - build costs understandably kept down by using cheap hardware which can be changed (tuners & saddles). But most importantly the build quality & internal electrics are way above any guitar I've seen in this price range & those pickups are spectacular !!!!!!Not sure if this would be ideal for someone just starting their guitar journey, as it needs a bit of tweaking, but If you're able to do a little bit of work then this guitar is incredibleWELL DONE VINTAGE, I LOVE THIS GUITAR ❤️

Rip off
This is just so bad guitar you can't use the whammy far to close to the vol and tone dials not recommended
